Really interesting to read all the experiences of those teaching when this was a thing (before my time!) I guess the only answer is what we all knew already...abolish!
Is there a reason that Ofsted can't pre-book their inspections with schools? I get that the 'element of surprise' would disappear, but schools know when their window is and it would eliminate so much anxiety around the unknown, and would allow schools to plan and pace development

Lovely words! Can we see it in action though??? 🧐
I will always back teachers, support staff, and the whole school workforce so they feel valued, have the support they need and are rewarded and recognised for the amazing work they do. Pleased to see the NEU has agreed to stop its ballot for industrial action. There’s a lot to do to get our education system working well for every child, so let’s work together to achieve that.

Does she know she can literally stop it happening like...instantly??

Why does it feel like even Ofsted view schools as the enemy? 😞
Ofsted’s inspection system has been described as β€˜brutal’ after it carried out an inspection of a small school while its headteacher was absent because of cancer tes.com/magazine/news/genera…

Remembering the late, great Dolly, who brought joy, comfort and inspiration to so many - including the millions of children given free books through her Imagination Library. We will always ❀️ you.

Dolly Parton on funding education and childhood literacy programs: My daddy was the smartest man I have ever known, but I knew his inability to read probably kept him from seeing all of his dreams come true. Inspiring kids to love to read became my mission.

Her Imagination Library is like nothing any other celebrity has done. She unequivocally used her power for good. A total gem (rhinestone) πŸ’ŽπŸ‘‘πŸ“šπŸͺ•
Dolly Parton was out here funding programs dedicated to children's education & science research, we lost someone who was using her resources for good πŸ₯²

That when I used to visit America, from the moment the plane began to move at Gatwick to the moment it pulled back up to the gate again two weeks later, I had no contact at all with anyone at home or any sort of internet access.

So during a cabinet reshuffle, do these people apply for the roles? Do they interview? Or do they just get picked like mates on a football team in a PE lesson? πŸ€”

The way this doesn't include even a hint of acknowledgement for the hard work of school staff is really quite baffling.
Key Stage 2 results are in... Since we entered government, children’s reading, writing, spelling, punctuation, grammar, maths and science have all improved. School standards, attendance and behaviour are all on the up under Labour.

Honestly, one sign of sunshine and they close Stonehenge. These lazy stone keepers just want to go to the beach! The Neolithic builders never closed them for a little bit of sun... It's no hotter at Stonehenge than it is by that stone in my garden... pathetic....
