I studied every GCSE English Language examiner report & pulled out the key lessons. The result is my first video course, 'Lessons Learned': 10 videos, 1 for every question on the paper. Nearly 5 hours of teaching. It comes with 4 eBooks too. Get it here: mrbruff.com/product/lessons-…
This content isn’t copied from the official reports; it’s my own analysis of what they show. This course is independently produced and isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by AQA. The papers used were made by me!
Looking at where to host a paid course. Has any used (as a customer or a creator) Thinkific, Kajabi, Teachable etc etc? Any feedback?
I am now taking bookings for school visits from January 2027 onwards. Email [email protected] for more details!

Do any of my teacher followers here work at online schools? I'd love to find out more. If you could email me [email protected] that would be much appreciated.

Lately I’ve been thinking how hard it is to find a novel I truly enjoy. I start so many, then give up. It makes me wonder: in theory, is it possible to write the kind of novel you’d love to read? Not for fame or fortune, but for the enjoyment?

In this video I am looking at the top level descriptor 'deliberate crafting of linguistic devices' in AQA Paper 2 question 5:

Scrooge’s miserliness isn’t only social — it’s personal. He lives in darkness, cold, and isolation. This isn't someone who lives lavishly and needs to share it around: his life is as empty and joyless as his moral outlook. What is the significance of this?
I get this question a lot, and yes I am sure! November 2017 was two narrative options. You will not ALWAYS be able to choose between narrative and descriptive in AQA P1Q5.

Something surprising about non-fiction language analysis in AQA English Language Paper 2 (and, by extension, its use in P2Q5) 🧵
The practical takeaway: Students should USE the same language features in Paper 2 Q5 that they already use (often brilliantly ) in Paper 1 Q5. Examples can be found in my guide to English Language: amzn.to/2GvPrTV
