Just watched the movie Sacrifice on Netflix, which had Chris Evans, Anna Taylor Joy, and other names in the cast. Terrible movie that must have been incredibly expensive.
Dan Lin is out as Netflix’s head of film after almost three years:
• Lin’s exit follows last week’s shocking departure of chief content officer Bela Bajaria amid widespread Netflix layoffs that cut roughly 1,000 jobs
• Lin was let go at the start of the weekend and will address his teams throughout the day on Monday

“So are you with the bride or the groom?”
“Neither! I don’t know either of these people or their family or friends, I just bought a ticket to attend. Not so many occasions to dress up and dance right?”
“Erm.. what? So are you with the bride or the groom?”
This is awesome 😂
This sounds insane until you’ve been on enough date nights where you spend $250 to discuss the kids’ schedules in a different building.
The backstory is pretty great!
A married couple in San Diego wanted to get dressed up and go to a wedding. Problem was, they’d reached the age where nobody they knew was getting married anymore.
So they built a website where you can buy tickets to strangers’ weddings.
And the economics actually make sense.
The couple getting married has already committed to a venue minimum. Someone cancels. Now there’s an empty chair and a dinner they’re paying for either way.
Meanwhile, another couple would happily pay to eat, dance, have some cake and watch a best man make a series of increasingly questionable decisions with a microphone.
The hosts approve the guests. Guests verify their IDs. Everybody agrees to the arrangement.
Which is arguably more vetting than your cousin’s new boyfriend received.
Apparently one bride said the paying strangers brought so much energy to the dance floor that she wished she’d invited more.
Of course they did. Those people specifically bought tickets to be there. Half your actual guests are attending under a treaty negotiated between their mothers.
I love businesses like this. Find something people already paid for but can’t fully use. Find someone else who wants it. Make the introduction.
This guy just wanted to take his wife dancing and accidentally identified a liquidity problem in the wedding market.
Cue Vince Vaughn!
I think it’s bad the men’s spaces are not allowed to exist anymore. All other demographics get to have their own space.

You’re my rep, could you actually focus on purging H1-B fraud and abuse in Seattle area companies? That would actually help your constituents as there are many Americans looking for jobs. Not whatever BS is going on in India.

My ultimate relaxing evening is Civ6 on the laptop on the couch, movie on the tv, pizza, and a glass of red blend. The ultimate relaxation.
This advice works so long as you’re in a specific type of situation that exists only rarely these days.
If you’re dating within your community and the women only goes on ~2-3 first dates a year, this is the move…
Attention Young Men:
I am surrounded by 20 year old girls in my life that are smart, capable, hard working and cute. Nobody is dating them. Not sure what the deal is, but I don’t get it.
Step 1: Stop playing video games
Step 2: Head to great clips and get that lettuce cleaned up
Step 3: Hit a shower (when dating hygiene is critical)
Step 4: Go clean your car
Step 5: Sign up for a yoga class
Step 6: Go to the yoga class
Step 7: Ask a cute for her phone number at yoga class (yes you can meet girls IRL and not just on the apps - 10/10 the Dirt Dog highly recommends)
Step 8: Follow up within 2 days with a phone call and ask them out for this coming weekend Friday or Saturday night.
Step 9: IMPORTANT - come up with a good game plane for date night. Get a dinner reservation, get an activity planned. Let them know in advance what you are doing so they can dress appropriately. I know you are gunna roll off the couch and head to date night, but they are not. They are going to stress about what to wear and call at least 6 different people on FaceTime to ask their opinion.
Step 10: I highly recommend you bring flowers to the door step. I’m not covering that you go to the doorstep, because if you don’t do that you have no hope here. Women want men to date them. You don’t need to break the bank on flowers. Head to Trader Joe’s. Grab 2 different kinds of flowers. If you don’t know what matches find the closest looking lady to your mom at TJ’s and ask her. Wrap the 2 flowers into 1 bouquet with paper. Bonus Points you can cut open a TJ bag and use that as the paper.
Step 11: Be a gentleman on the date. She isn’t there to hear your life story. Ask her about her. For every 1 question you answer, ask her 3. Open Doors, pay for the meal, be polite.
Provided you follow most of this guideline you are highly likely to get yourself an opportunity for date number 2.
Keep going until you find someone that you can’t imagine not being around all the time. That’s when you have found a good one for you.
My life is complete with my wife as my companion. I wish you the same fortune in life. Happy Hunting.
If you’re like most men and dating women on apps going on 10+ dates a year, this won’t help you in dating to marry. All women want to be able to tell others men are so smitten with them they got them flowers, uber, etc for status, but won’t see you as a romantic option.
Important info for those like me getting excited for finally cracking down on H1-B’s. Looks like it’s just a headline before midterms, R’s are not standing up to their corporate tech donators.
