🎯 Humans need other humans. Our meaning comes from each other, there is something about the human journey that brings us alive. AI won't replace teachers. Our students need us.
Teaching can focus on the soft skills and character building.
🎯 Don't wait for governments or policy makers to dictate the direction of AI, they are too far behind!
🎯 Non traditional competition disrupting the Edu sphere - how long before the next big thing is an educational provider?
🎯 Its the disruption that we can predict that we are comfortable with - AI disrupts Box 1, the non obvious, non-linear disruption is what we need to prepare for.
🎯 3 box approach yo manage change
Box 1 - what makes us successful - engineering proficiency.
Box 2 - Letting go of the past
Box 3 - create the future
Balance box 1 and box 3 for great leadership
What lead to success in box 1 that could lead to failure in box 3
🎯 PREPARE - framework for prompts
Prompt, Role, Explicit, Parameters, Ask, Rate, Emotions
Using this enables a much higher quality response!
🎯 Think of using Natural Language Processors and Large Language Model’s as a funnel, start by getting its attention and then focusing on what you want to get out of it.
Thanks to @EDI_QF we had @theaieducatorX give us an insight into AI in Education in an informative session.
Seeing Dan debate with a virtual Steve Jobs and trying to force a conversation in Arabic via Spanish was a particular highlight!😂
Some key takeaways and golden nuggets🔑
Spending 1% of teacher contact time (75mins a month) can result in up to 25% increase in student attainment. That 75mins is focused improvement and teacher agency on formative assessment approaches.
Thanks for a thought provoking session @dylanwiliam ! Lets make learning stickier! 😆

Teachers who believe their kids are smarter, the kids usually end up getting smarter!
High standards and expectations for all!
Building testing into the end of every lesson makes the learning stickier
Exit passes, plenaries etc
If learners with the wrong thinking and learners with the right thinking can give the right answer then the question is bad!
The question should focus on right thinking responses
We need to get used to writing 2 types of questions, questions to promote learning and questions to check understanding.
Understanding the difference between these is key!
Be an interpretive listener rather than an evaluative listener
Interpretive listeners learn what students are thinking
