HUGE audition for me today. Not for the money or exposure but because of the sheer quality of the project. It’s the kind of thing people lucky enough to be part of will look back on in future years and sigh fondly. This is what this precarious path is all about.
OpenAI putting ads in chats is just grim news. Presumably chat history will be used for the targeting. Terrible move as it breaks a fundamental - the idea that a chat between you and a llm was ever a private space or that research might remain unbiased and solely evidence based.
Delighted the Assisted Dying Bill has been voted down. My uncle died recently in a holding ward because a place wasn’t even available in palliative care. Staff, I felt, couldn’t wait to stop feeding him and put him on end of life pathway to free up a bed.

The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
