#ONStorm #ONwx 🍁 Looking for the best fall colours in Ontario this Thanksgiving long weekend? We've got you covered!
Our latest Ontario Fall Colour Outlook is here, and we're seeing some spectacular colours across Central and Northern Ontario, with more areas in Southern Ontario quickly catching up!
Keep in mind that only a selection of parks is shown on our map. You can explore our interactive dashboard to see the latest fall colour reports for parks across ALL of Ontario!
🍁 VIEW THE FULL FALL COLOUR TRACKER: instantweatherinc.com/ontari…
If you're planning a fall colour adventure this Thanksgiving long weekend, some of the best viewing opportunities appear to be around Muskoka, Algonquin Park and parts of Northeastern Ontario.
Arrowhead Provincial Park and Oxtongue River-Ragged Falls are currently leading the way with an impressive IW Fall Colour Score of 88 out of 100! Both parks are reporting 100% colour change with 40% leaf fall, putting them in our highest "Best" category.
Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park, near Mattawa, is another excellent option with a score of 88, featuring 90% colour change and 30% leaf fall. Mikisew Provincial Park is also looking fantastic with a score of 84!
However, we're starting to see something interesting happen at Algonquin Provincial Park. 👀
While Algonquin has now reached 100% colour change, leaf fall has increased to 50%, bringing its IW Fall Colour Score down to 77. That's enough to knock it out of our highest red category and into the orange "Excellent" category.
This is a good example of why our score considers both colour change AND leaf fall. Even though all the leaves have changed colour, more of them are now falling off the trees, meaning Algonquin is beginning to move past its peak viewing period.
There's still plenty of colour to enjoy, but if Algonquin is on your Thanksgiving weekend bucket list, you might not want to wait much longer!
Closer to the GTA, things are also looking promising! 🍂
Both Mono Cliffs and Forks of the Credit are reporting 70% colour change with only 10% leaf fall, giving them an IW Fall Colour Score of 76. These could be some great options for those looking to enjoy the colours without travelling too far north.
Meanwhile, Awenda Provincial Park near Georgian Bay is also sitting at a score of 76, while French River is at 75 and Lake St. Peter in Eastern Ontario is at 74.
For those in Southwestern Ontario, especially around London, Windsor and along the Lake Erie shoreline, the colours are still developing. Many parks remain in the green and yellow categories, meaning the best viewing opportunities are likely still ahead!
Remember, our tracker uses reports from Ontario Parks, and not every park updates its data daily. Conditions can also change quickly, especially as wind and rain cause more leaves to fall.
Be sure to check our interactive dashboard before heading out, where you can see the latest colour change, leaf fall, IW Fall Colour Score and report date for each park.
We hope our tracker helps you find the perfect spot to enjoy Ontario's beautiful autumn colours this Thanksgiving weekend! 🍁
Are you planning any fall colour adventures this weekend? We'd love to hear where you're heading, and feel free to share your fall colour photos in the comments! 📸🍂

From our partners @financialpost: Chapman's Ice Cream pledges to cut American ingredients without raising prices financialpost.com/news/retai…

I was given my name by the Iroquois Nation many hundreds of years ago. By 1660 my name was printed on maps by the Europeans as they accepted the Native name which means Beautiful waters.
In 1867 the Canadian government decided to use my name for their providence.

It was revealed that Dolly Parton was secretly battling cancer but she didn't say anything and instead released this song as one of her last to raise funds for children with cancer. Even while she was sick she was still thinking about others. I’m absolutely devastated.

Chapman's Ice Cream has just done something EVERY Canadian should know.
The largest ice cream company in Canada used to source fruit and nuts from American suppliers — for some, for over 30 years. Then, Trump imposed a 25% tariff on Canadian products.
So, what did Chapman's do?
📷 They called Italy.
📷 They called Spain.
📷 They signed multi-year contracts with European suppliers.
And the vice president said it perfectly:
"Even if Trump wakes up smarter than yesterday, we're about to sign long-term deals with other countries — and the American companies that supply them will have nothing but their eyes to cry for."
Oh, and on top of ALL that? They're COLDing their prices so that the average Canadian doesn't have to spend a single cent more.
It's a family business. No shareholders. Just the Chapman family saying: "The least we can do is make sure Canadians still have the means to buy ice cream."
That's what Canadian pride looks like.
Next time you're at the grocery store — grab some Chapman's.
Every scoop of ice cream is a vote for Canada.

Ian Lee cuts through the noise on the trade breakdown: “The prize is whether we have continued open access to our largest trading partner, literally next door.”
The U.S. sits at $32 trillion GDP—China is a distant second and 10,000 km away
Retaliation? “Nonsensical.” Tariffs have “no redeeming argument in economic logic,” and hitting back is just “pouring gasoline on a raging fire.” “You don’t end a trade war by announcing new tariffs. You end it at the negotiating table.”
Without a deal, he warns, “40% of our manufacturers are looking at exiting the country to the United States.” Diversification sounds good on paper, but geography, language, and proximity make the U.S. irreplaceable overnight. Canada’s real leverage lies in smart negotiation, not escalation that hurts us first
