Movie Tracker v2.3 is here!
A brand new update designed to make tracking your movies smoother, smarter, and more elegant than ever.
Movie Tracker for iOS 27 and macOS 27 is out today. Here is what changed.
Importing from another app has been rebuilt from scratch. You pick the file your old app gave you, and you see it row by row: what comes in, what looks like something you already have, what stays out.
Siri and Shortcuts can now answer questions about your watching: a year's statistics, the actors and genres you watched the most, what is coming out next, how one year compares to another.
There is more in this update: a written recap of your year, Spotlight search, PDF export for a movie, a show or a collection, and a more forgiving library search.
One purchase, per platform. No subscription.

Movie Tracker is a movie and TV show tracker for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. Everything you watch, want to watch, and are halfway through, in one place. No account, no server, no tracking. Here is what it actually does.
It runs natively on iPhone, iPad and Mac, with an Apple Watch app for marking episodes from your wrist. Everything syncs through your own iCloud, so your library follows you and belongs to you.
No external server, nothing about your viewing collected or counted, and you can leave with your data whenever you want. Four years of development, and it is still the app I use every day.

Movie Tracker now supports importing your TV Time data. Export the ZIP from TV Time, open it in Movie Tracker, and your watch history is restored. The import runs entirely on your device. No account, no upload, no server. Available now!

@MovieTrackApp takes the opposite approach. It is privacy first. Your data belongs to you, stored on your device and synced through your own iCloud. No central server collecting your habits, and you are never locked in. Your library is yours to keep and export whenever you want.

A wave of apps now calls itself the replacement. One bragged that its users have tracked over 10 million episodes. Ask yourself how they can know that. Every episode you mark is sent to their server and counted. The failed model is being rebuilt, and you are the product again.

TV Time shuts down July 15 and everyone is scrambling for a replacement. Before you move your shows, understand why it is closing. A free service still costs real money to run, and that never lasts. Free is not free. You either pay with your data or when the app shuts down.
TV Time is shutting down on July 15th.
If you’re on Apple devices, Movie Tracker is a native alternative with iCloud sync, no account needed, and full privacy. And yes, you can bring your library with you. 👇
