Last night was living proof that the @CHSAA_NYC is a brotherhood. All 31 schools were in the building at the Media Day at @MountToday to talk about their upcoming season. Go support all of the teams in the AA, A & B divisions, respectively, this season.

#Flashback March 6th, 2011. On a Sunday afternoon at Rose Hill Gym on the campus of @FordhamNYC, there was a championship matchup between two schools from the borough. One was @HayesHoops1941, which was from the South Bronx and is based on the Grand Concourse. The other was @MSMBasketball1, which is based uptown in the North Bronx, across the street from the border of Mount Vernon. In this game, the Mountaineers, which were led by Peter "Tre" Aguilar III, who went on to play collegiate basketball at @LIUBasketball and Malik Gill, who went on to play at @DartmouthMBB, and went the distance with their rivals, leading them to a 63-56 victory and the Class A championship. Mount would go on to finish with a 26-2 record and No. 4 ranking in the @nysswa. Hayes would finish 21-6 on the season and would finish at No. 10 in the @nysswa rankings. With the closure of Rice High School in Harlem in June of that year, it opened the door for conference realignment, which meant that both teams and also their counterparts from Westchester County, @step_basketball and @IonaPrepBBall, would move up to the AA division. 13 years later, all four teams are still in the AA division.
