Israel's chess players took forfeit losses for observing Yom Kippur. Their federation says it had secured a written agreement back in January to move the matches.
Colombia and Singapore agreed to changes. The Netherlands and Bulgaria kept the holiday slots and received 4–0 wins. The agreement should have been honored.

My first experience at a Chabad service was wonderful. The rabbi’s sermon was about all Jews having a home at the synagogue. It was a very welcoming experience. I look forward to my next Chabad service.

Then again, shooting at synagogues has joined maple syrup and Degrassi as a major Canadian cultural export...
Last night, on the holiest night of the Jewish calendar, a shooting took place outside the Sons of Jacob Synagogue in Belleville.
A police officer was shot and the community has been left shaken.
Jewish people must be able to worship safely. To live free, open, proud Jewish lives. Canada’s government will do everything in our power to support law enforcement in ensuring that the perpetrator is held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.
My thoughts are with the injured officer and his family, and the entire Jewish community.

They've never been able to understand this neighborhood or it's community.
