There is no confirmed archaeological evidence for a single person, place, or event not already named in the Bible that has been acknowledged as positive evidence for its historicity.
It teaches a works-based gospel & contains anachronistic theology.
It’s a #MormonMyth
The Book of Mormon takes place in the ancient Americas and, like the Bible, was written by Jesus Christ's followers. It teaches His gospel and testifies of Him. As you live the teachings found in the Book of Mormon, you can find peace and truth.

I think Hayden’s platform should instead be titled:
“Let’s Block w/ Hayden Carroll”
See the 🧵below on what led up to this.
1. Scripture never promises men can become gods.
2. Christians have never believed that Jesus died on the cross to open the path to godhood.
3. Note the term “saving ordinances” — as in not optional.
This is one of many ways one can know it’s a counterfeit of Christianity.
What Hayden is deliberately obscuring how salvation is not synonymous with eternal life / exaltation.
Everyone gets resurrection for free by grace.
Eternal Life (aka - exaltation / becoming a god) however — well, you’ve gotta ‘work’ for that one.

Jesus & the apostles taught there is one God.
Jesus claimed to be God & the apostles confessed He was.
Mormonism rejects what Jesus & the Apostles taught, by affirming a plurality of gods & a regression of gods.
Affirming Mormonism, is idolatry & unbelief in the one true God.
*Mormon Confidently claims no one has attempted to critically address Hayden Carroll’s so-called dilemma.*
*Someone addresses it with precision.*
His response?
Complete silence.
Proverbs 18:2-3 speaks to this sort of thing.
Replying to @jaredadairbell
It’s a fabricated dilemma, Carroll redefines the goodness / omnibenevolence of God into something that ‘creedal’ Christianity doesn’t confess.
That neuters his claim of it being an ‘internal’ critique.
No bibliography — zero sources for his so-called ‘definition’ are provided.
As is Hansen’s custom, he minimizes the basis by which men are condemned by God.
Stubborn unbelief
Idolatry / false worship
Taking the Lords name in vain
It’s all sin & sin sends people to hell.
He might as well ask:
“Would God send you to hell for one sin?”
Yes. (Rev 21:8)
Maximizing similarities & minimizing differences for rhetorical effect.
The facts about the LDS Gospel:
1. It teaches different gods
2. It teaches a different way to God
3. It denies the word of God on numerous things
That doesn’t make it Christian doctrine, but false doctrine.
Evangelical: Mormons aren't Christians.
LDS: Okay. What makes someone a Christian?
Evangelical: Believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
LDS: I believe Jesus is my Lord and Savior.
Evangelical: Yes, but you have to believe He's the Son of God.
LDS: I believe He's the literal Son of God.
Evangelical: And that He died for your sins and rose again.
LDS: I believe He atoned for my sins, died on the cross, and rose on the third day.
Evangelical: But you don't believe in the Trinity.
LDS: So belief in Jesus isn't the test. Agreement with a creed is?
Evangelical: The Trinity is biblical.
LDS: Where does the Bible say you have to accept the Nicene Creed to be a Christian?
Evangelical: …It's just what Christians have always believed.
LDS: So the definition is "what my tradition believes"?
Evangelical: You believe in a different Jesus.
LDS: The Jesus born in Bethlehem, crucified under Pontius Pilate, and resurrected from the tomb?
Evangelical: Yes, but your understanding of Him is wrong.
LDS: That's a disagreement about who He is. It's not proof that I don't follow Him.
Peter's confession was "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God." That was enough for Jesus. Why isn't it enough for us?
Say to them, ‘As I live!’ declares the Lord God, ‘I take no pleasure at all in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn back, turn back from your evil ways! Why then should you die, house of Israel?’
- Ezekiel 33:11
Hayden is a one-tricky pony, as his cynical rhetoric boils down to Caricaturing Christianity.
He argues that God is forcing Him to continue in his unbelief, but that’s not the testimony of scripture.
Hayden in his sin, does what he wants/loves. (James 1:13-15)

This is how Mormonism functionally denies the gospel.
Resurrection = Free by Grace
Eternal Life (exaltation) = Must be earned
Contra Jesus in John 3:16, where you either perish or have eternal life by faith.
A rare moment of partial agreement — Hayden does not worship the God of the Bible.
If he knew the voice of the good shepherd then he would follow Him, instead of the false teachers who head the Mormon church. (John 10:4-5)

The profound irony with this accusation, is that Hansen describing a problem Mormonism has to an exponentially more severe degree by his very own standard.
Claiming “apostasy” isn’t an apologetic for this absence, it’s question begging.
Just a reminder that Protestants like Aaron Shaff literally have 0 Christians they would be in communion with during the first 1400 years of Christianity.
The entire Protestant movement is based on the notion that for 1500 years essentially every Christian got it wrong.
Protestants of all people should recognize that human beings are fallible.
On the one hand, Mormons will maintain that they worship the same God as Christianity.
On the other, Mormons apologists say things like this and reveal that’s not really the case.
This is how #MormonMyths operate in real time

Oaks affirmed apotheosis in his 1995 ‘Apostasy and Restoration’ General Conference talk, and rejected the concept of theosis as understood by Eastern Orthodox contrary to what online defenders of Mormonism tend to argue
Note:
apotheosis =\= theosis
Whether it’s the Pope, Mormons, or Liberal evangelicals who say this the end result is the same — they don’t fear God, nor do they hear His commands to abstain from all forms of false service & worship to strange gods & to disciple others to do likewise.
This is disobedience.
The world needs more than ever the powerful witness of men and women of all religions living together in unity, friendship and cooperation. In this true way, we can work jointly to achieve the peace, justice and reconciliation so desperately needed today. May we never lose hope that a new world without division is possible. #GeneralAudience
