People were asked to rate a bunch of religious groups on a scale from 0 to 100.
Democrats rate atheists 18 points higher than Republicans.
Republicans rate evangelicals 20 points higher than Democrats.
The smallest partisan spread? Latter-day Saints.
Just 3 points.

When Latter-day Saints hit their 25th birthday, 33% have already been married.
Just 6% of atheists have walked down the aisle at 25 years old.
In fact, an LDS at 25 is just as likely to have been married as an agnostic at 45 years old.

If a child was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the likelihood of them staying in the faith as an adult?
It's basically a coin flip.
And retention is the most important metric to maintain growth in a religious tradition.

When Boomers start dying off, nearly every major American religious group is going to be in a load of trouble.
It's going to impact Southern Baptists and United Methodist at nearly the same time. Nearly half their adult members are 60+.
The only large traditions that will escape this are Catholics and LDS.
"More than half of young adult women who grew up LDS have now left. Many are reacting against politics, purity culture and powerlessness," says @janariess.

Carol Lynn Pearson was more than an accomplished poet and author. To me, she was first a relative.
As a young boy, I knew her from family gatherings, Christmas Eve dinners and family pictures. She was simply Carol Lynn. It was only later that I came to appreciate the influence of her life and work.
As my own life took me into public service, she followed my work. She never criticized, only encouraged. She led with sincerity, grace, and compassion.
My love and condolences go to her family and to the many whose lives she touched. She will be missed.
Carol Lynn Pearson, an accomplished poet and author and lifelong devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has passed away at age 86.
