Thrilled to receive the 2025 Young Innovator in the Materials Science of Additive Manufacturing Award from @TMSSociety. Organizing TMS symposium on alloy design for AM has been a source of inspiration for me. Honored to be recognized by the society that has supported my growth.
Thrilled to hood my first 3 PhD students! Our lab thrived on their dedication and pioneering spirit, from building metal printers to mastering synchrotron experiments and TEM. Bittersweet to see them go, but excited for their future impact on the world.

Accepting Cornell MAE FLAME 2024 applications now! Are you a Junior who faced barriers to advancement in #stem? Are you addressing barriers for participation of underrepresented students in #stem? This summer research experience offers a bridge to our PhD: mae.cornell.edu/mae/resource…
We marked the end of the semester with a delightful potluck at my place, where we celebrated a birthday, a job offer, and many more accomplishments achieved throughout the semester. Working with these amazing students brings me joy every day.
Just wrapped up a thought-provoking US Fusion Materials Road Mapping Workshop! Reflecting on the insightful discussions, it's evident that the materials fusion community is poised for both exciting and challenging tasks in the coming decade and beyond

Excited to share that I have been selected for the TMS Early Career Faculty Fellow award @TMSSociety. I will be presenting a lecture on "The Power of Instability: Non-Equilibrium Dynamics in Additive Manufacturing and Professional Development" at the conference next year.
Our latest article has been published in Nature Communications Materials. In this article, we demonstrate how operando X-ray diffractions serve as microstructural fingerprints that capture the material's history during 3D printing process @CHESS_user @CornellEng @Cornell Link 👇

Professor Atieh Moridi from Cornell University was our @JHUMaterials seminar speaker this afternoon. She talked about her group's research in characterizing metal additive manufacturing with operando X-ray diffraction.
I had a wonderful time visiting @Livermore_Lab and @JPLNASA last week . A big thank you to Manyalibo Matthews and Douglas Hofmann for hosting my visit. I gained a lot of insights from the amazing work being done in the field of #additivemanufacturing at these two places.

We published another paper showcasing the application of synchrotron X-ray diffraction in understanding solidification dynamics in #additivemanufacturing. We demonstrate that formation of metastable phases during solidification plays a crucial role in grain boundary morphology.
We have just finished an intense week of installation and training on AMAZEMET atomizer. Together with our custom small-scale printer [we call it Printino], we now have the necessary tools to accelerate our efforts in alloy design for #additivemanufacturing.
Congratulations to my student Ashlee Gabourel for winning an NSF Graduate Fellowship! This is a tremendous achievement and a testament to her dedication. Wishing you all the best as you continue to excel in your academic pursuits. #NSF #graduatefellowship #achievement #success"
