Token for token, GPT-6 Astra doesn’t just beat Opus 5.5. It annihilates it. Astra High uses ~12k tokens per task. Opus 5.5 needs ~66k. That’s 5.5× the token efficiency while Astra is still more intelligent pound for pound. Now think about what that implies. If Astra is the distilled model, what the hell was the teacher? OpenAI could have an internal mode lurking behind the curtain that makes Opus 5.5 and Fable 5.5 look obsolete before we’ve even seen it.

AI scientists are spreading fast and growing exponentially Researchers at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden built a close loop AI scientist that can generate hypotheses, design real laboratory experiments, analyze the results, and then use those results to decide what to investigate next, with minimal human intervention. Working with yeast, the system connected LLM agents to automated cell culture and metabolomics equipment and made experimentally validated biological discoveries, including previously unknown interactions involving glutamate, spermine, aminoadipate, and formic acid stress.

$AVGO already controls ~75% of AI ASIC market with six core customers including $GOOGL, OpenAI and Anthropic which Hock Tan says becomes its largest custom chip client in FY27 as agentic inference drives more workloads toward custom silicon. The part I like most is shipments are expected to double to ~10M in 2027 and reach 24M by 2030 while ASPs rise from ~$10K to ~$18K as chip complexity increases. So if AI revenue really moves above $100B in FY27 then ~20x earnings looks ridiculous for a business still scaling custom compute and the networking around every cluster.

"What is your company losing in lost ideas?" Andrew Verrilli (@MrTeacer_tech) on the ROI that's hard to measure. Replacing SaaS has clear ROI. So does building a new product. The one nobody counts is the idea someone had and couldn't act on, because there was no tooling in place to turn it into something real. Give people the tooling to act on their ideas and see which ones work. Take a VC mindset: one breakout pays for all the rest.

OpenAI shipped Dots at DevDay: Always-on agents with their own cloud computer. Altman already runs one. It works the night shift on email, calendar, Slack, and DMs, then sends one morning brief. Drafts attached. Nothing sent. The part worth copying is the rule, not the product. It may interrupt only if a sender, a window, and a number clear. No stop condition and the agent becomes a second inbox.

I'm quite surprised to see memory names trade sideways for quite a while now. • $MU blowout quarter • LTA's for 2030+ • Key to nearly every major tech shift Yet the market seems to ignore all that? Particularly the importance of HBM: modern AI GPUs need extremely high‑bandwidth, low‑latency memory, and HBM is the only practical way to provide that today. $SKHY, $MU, $SSNLF

Beautiful, interactive charts in chat. 📊 👀
Visualizing data is a superpower. It's how you build intuition, and it's how you communicate what you're seeing to everyone else. Beautiful, dynamic charts like this Sankey used to be very difficult. As a former data analyst, I had to write custom Python scripts just to get the output. Even then it wasn't dynamic and it wasn't styled. Static images, copy-pasting into decks, every quarter for the next company. Pretty painful. 😖 Now it's one prompt, inline in a Replit chat. Amazing. 🤩 This new inline charting came in with the Atta (@attaapp) acquisition. Omar Shaik (@omarshaik) and Amine Ben Khalifa (@aminert) are coming on the livestream in a couple of weeks to get into it all. Pumped! 🙌 If you work with data, you're going to have fun with this. From Tuesday's show w/ @raymmar .

The governance proposal establishing the $MANTRA Community Pool and MANTRA Assistance Fund (MAF) is live now! A YES creates the Community Pool and endorses the MAF. No new issuance, emissions rate stays the same. The Pool is for funding liquidity, apps, and integrations. As the first of many revenue streams, the MAF routes NVNM genesis validator stablecoin fees into open market $MANTRA buys. One grows the network. The other creates external demand for $MANTRA. Vote by 8 Oct.

Thank you for sharing, @bamitav! #Robotics #Robots #AI
#Robotics is entering an interesting new phase. #Claude Opus 5.5 controlled a #robot arm to recreate Michelangelo’s work. When it noticed a line was broken, it went back and autonomously fixed it on its own. Perceive → act → inspect → correct. That's the interesting part. Robots aren't just executing instructions anymore. They're starting to evaluate their own work and improve the result. #art #painting #michelangelo #AI @AlbertoEMachado @Eli_Krumova @postoff25 @Khulood_Almani @anand_narang @NutritiousMind @baski_LA @TanyaSinha_ @devaang @AlAmadi1 @jeancayeux @enilev @efipm @mvollmer1 @Nicochan33

$AMZN is following the $NVDA playbook: Taking equity stakes in suppliers to help fund their working capital Amazon is investing $50M in Gold Circuit Electronics (GCE), a Taiwanese PCB supplier for AI servers and network switches Amazon will buy 1.856M new shares at NT$856 each, a 20% discount to the reference price GCE supplies all four major cloud providers and is benefiting heavily from custom AI and server demand Its August revenue hit a record NT$10.38B ($326M), up 76.4% YoY. January-August revenue reached NT$64.06B ($2.01B), up 71.3% YoY This is Amazon’s second investment in Taiwan’s AI supply chain, following its investment in Alchip in 2024

gpt-6.1 sol matching gpt-6 astra on DeepSWE at roughly 1/5 the cost is probably the craziest result here it also beats gpt-6 sol while using less reasoning effort and costing less
GPT-6.1 sol near-astra performance, $2/$10 pricing, 1m context, 128k output, and still built for complex coding + computer use

$IONQ The slide de Masi left on screen at QWC. IonQ Superion 256: the first system in NVIDIA’s NVAQC.
The NVIDIA Accelerated Quantum Research Center (NVAQC) will have its first on-premise quantum computing deployment: an IonQ Superion 256 system. “We see this as the beginning of an exciting era of hybrid quantum-classical computing," says our CEO @NiccoloDeMasi. The NVAQC is designed to address the fundamental challenges of scaling quantum processors into a new class of accelerated quantum supercomputers. Connecting IonQ’s full-stack quantum systems directly with @nvidia AI infrastructure will help drive the breakthroughs needed to turn qubits into useful, large-scale quantum supercomputers capable of solving the world's hardest problems. Our quantum processing system will link directly with an NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 system via NVIDIA NVQLink. Workloads will be orchestrated by the open NVIDIA CUDA-Q platform. $USDE $ENA: 💵🇺🇸 Stablecoins may end up being one of the most strategically important financial innovations for the United States in decades. They take the dollar global and digital — allowing billions of people and eventually AI agents to hold and transact in USD — reinforcing dollar hegemony at exactly the moment many predicted its decline. But the second-order effect may be even bigger: Treasury demand. As some traditional foreign holders reduce their exposure to U.S. debt, trillions of dollars of stablecoin adoption will create a massive new structural buyer of Treasuries. Global demand for digital dollars gets recycled back into financing the United States. Stablecoins don't just export the dollar — they will help finance America.

SC Moatti mapped 550 AI companies by capital raised against moat strength. Only two landed where conventional wisdom says they should: @OpenAI and @AnthropicAI . @scmoatti is Managing Partner of @MightyCapital , whose portfolio includes Amplitude, Netskope, and Groq. Her firm built a version of the Seven Powers framework specifically to test a quiet assumption most investors still make: that the amount of capital a company raises tracks with how defensible it actually is. Here is how she described what they found on my podcast: "We mapped 550 companies in the seven powers framework by defensibility of their moat and by how much money they have raised. Only OpenAI and Anthropic are on that diagonal, raised a ton of money and really defensible. Then there's a cluster of companies that have raised a ton of money but aren't defensible because they rely on moats that no longer work in AI, like switching costs or a data moat. And there's a cluster that raised very little because they're super capital efficient, and they're valuable because they rely on network effects and counter positioning." The moats that protected software companies for two decades, the cost of switching platforms, the advantage of owning proprietary data, are exactly the ones AI is eroding. What still holds are the moats that get stronger as more people use the product, and the ones built by doing something structurally different rather than the same thing cheaper. Most of the capital in the market is still being underwritten against the old map. The gap between how much a company raised and how defensible it actually is has become one of the more reliable tells in venture right now.
