This is not a dig that she, as an art major, should know every painting there is. Google was right there, we could've just checked it but she refused and I had one class doing nothing while everyone got a head start because she didn't approve my choice.

She was pretentious and very much an elitist, which I sorta can appreciate it looking back. Was a very good teacher, leaning on the drill sergeant type. I'm sad I didn't make the most out of her classes, but still learned a ton. Still have nightmares with 3 point perspective.

There's no way to say this without sounding pretentious, but so many people on this app would have their lives changed if they just consumed a single piece of media targeted at adults. We have an epidemic of grown adults who have never read a book that isn't for 12 year olds.

Unfortunately this is another case of telling grown ass adults to read a different book. We are in our thirties and forties. We're not the target demographic for YA anymore please read adult-oriented books!

One time I fell asleep in a server and the group put on the (at the time) brand new Mori Calliope album on. Three hours later in the middle of the night when it's just me, @Morbid___Mind hops in while I'm still asleeep, puts on Ram Ranch on loop, and dips. Very strange morning.

i know this tweet is a joke but i actually think fantasy authors in particular do not read enough novels which is why so many books have terrible prose and “hard magic systems”

all writers do is read novels. they don’t play video games or table top rpgs. that’s why novels all have great prose and terrible gameplay mechanics
