MorDance 2022 Spring Season symphonyspace.org/events/vp-… via @SymphonySpace

“The feminist slant is evident. Rosaline isn’t a demure sophisticate but flirty; the women are as adept w/ swords as the men, Juliet is a modern Renaissance teen & Lady Capulet is the real head of the household.” @criticaldance review of @MorDance's R+J Reimagined. #ballet #dance

"The most significant change is to Friar Laurence in @MorDance's #RomeoAndJuliet. His demeanor becomes demonic which encases him in a shroud of evil. He's given a solo that shows his torment, his viciousness & his prescience that the story will evolve as it does." @criticaldance

"Lady Capulet is a force in this @MorDance production & Courtney Catalana delivered both the intelligence and power to carry it off. On observing her (apparently) dead daughter, and her clueless husband’s lame response, she promptly throttled him." #ballet #dance #romeoandjuliet

"Amy Saunder’s Juliet was impassioned. Her scream at seeing Romeo dead was a much more difficult to credibly execute series of uncontrolled body shakes & she made them believable &stabbing urself 3x & emerging coated in blood isn’t easy to pull off credibly, she did."

“The dance exceeded expectations. @MorDance has created a feminist Romeo & Juliet that tells the full story to much of the original score w/ significant twists that make it different & outrageous. It’s bloody good. Literally.” Thank u @criticaldance! criticaldance.org/mordances-…
