Elon chose the name, we will build the Moonbase.
🚀🌕 BREAKING: THE SCHOOL RUN JUST WENT INTERPLANETARY! 😂
@elonmusk is dropping the kids off at MOONBASE ALPHA before heading to work at SpaceX! 👨🚀
Forget yellow school buses… these kids arrive by STARSHIP! 🚀
🌎 Earth kids: “We missed the bus!”
🌕 Moon kids: “Dad, we missed the launch window!”
The future is going to be absolutely WILD! 👽🚀
@elonmusk, one question… does Moonbase Alpha have snow days? 😂
MOONBASE ALPHA
The Tesla Roadster unveiling was a glimpse of an extraordinary future.
As Elon Musk said, “Success is not certain, but excitement is.”
Imagine that same innovation powering Moonbase Alpha…unlocking lunar mobility, infrastructure, and an economy beyond Earth.
The future is electric. ⚡🌚

Welcome to Moonbase Alpha!
Same daily routine, different planet…
wake up, grab coffee ☕, go to work, complain about Mondays, and take the dog for a moonwalk!
Hey @elonmusk, one question: if the Wi-Fi goes down on Moonbase Alpha, do we call SpaceX customer support or just blame Mercury retrograde? 😂
Humanity’s next giant leap: making life on the Moon feel like home!
Since Ignition, we’ve been working across @NASA and with our partners to accelerate Artemis and return Americans to the Moon in 2028.
Next week, we’ll share major updates on that work, including how Artemis III is coming together and the next steps ahead for Artemis IV and beyond.

Moonbase Alpha: The Next Giant Leap for Humanity.
@elonmusk is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with SpaceX. Imagine a future where humans don’t just visit the Moon - we live, work, build, and thrive there.
Moonbase Alpha could be the beginning of a new era. Life beyond Earth is no longer just science fiction. 🌍
The future is multiplanetary.

Laundry day on Moonbase Alpha 😂
If we are going to live and work on the Moon, build the Moon Base, and eventually journey to Mars, we have to master the technologies that make sustained operations possible.
There is impressive work happening at the University of North Dakota on habitats, spacesuits, human performance, mobility, and autonomous systems that directly connects to those challenges.
Today, @SenJohnHoeven, General Guetlein, and I saw that work firsthand, touring UND’s lunar and Mars analog habitat and spacesuit lab while meeting with the students and researchers working through the real challenges of how humans will live, move, and operate on other worlds.
We also joined the UAS Summit to talk about how advances in autonomy and aviation are opening up new challenges and possibilities across both air and space.
North Dakota is helping build the capabilities America will need for the missions ahead. Thank you to Senator Hoeven, General Guetlein, and everyone at @UofNorthDakota for the warm welcome and outstanding work.
Did you say Moon Base? We will BUILD “Moonbase Alpha”, we will LIVE on the Moon Base and then we will use Moonbase Alpha to take us to MARS!

One day soon, you will be living and working on the Moon Base.
Shaken, spun, baked, and blasted!

Moon Base? Let’s call it, Moonbase Alpha!
Destination Moonbase Alpha!
Rare footage of @elonmusk opening Moonbase Alpha in 1975.
MOONBASE ALPHA is closer than we think!
Imagine a permanent human outpost beneath the lunar surface, protected from radiation and extreme temperatures.
What was once science fiction could become humanity’s first foothold beyond Earth.
The Moon is our next frontier. Mars is our future.
The Moon is not our final destination. It’s our gateway to MARS.
Moonbase Alpha could become humanity’s first stepping stone to Mars and beyond.
One day, future generations will look back and realize this was where we became a multiplanetary civilization.
@elonmusk The future isn’t something we wait for. It’s something we build.

Building Moonbase Alpha !
This is the most exciting time at NASA since the Kennedy era.
@POTUS has given us the mission: return to the Moon, build the Moon Base, pioneer nuclear spaceflight, advance extraordinary science, and win the new space race.
It was great to see so many of those builders, scientists, and technologists recognized at the Golden Age of Science summit this week.
The President recognizes that American leadership requires taking on the big, bold endeavors that define American exceptionalism and empower the people with the talent and determination to turn those ambitious objectives into reality.
Building Moonbase Alpha. Construction in progress. 🛰️📡🌚

Moonbase Alpha isn’t sci-fi anymore, it’s the next logical step. A permanent foothold on the Moon gives us a stepping stone to Mars, new science, resources, and a backup for humanity. Elon’s pushing the hardware; now let’s get the base built. The future’s off-world.

NASA says Moonbase Alpha is ahead of schedule. Meanwhile, the astronauts have already stolen a lunar rover, crashed it into the base, and started communicating exclusively in AEIOU.
We're building a Moon Base!
@NASAMoonBase will serve as a habitat where astronauts live and work during long-term science missions.
Join us at 2pm ET on Tuesday, May 26, for a live news event where we’ll share updates on our lunar exploration plans: go.nasa.gov/4uinkLi
Moonbase Alpha is ahead of schedule?
Great. Now we just need to find a way to stop the astronauts from shouting ‘AEIOU’ at each other. 😂🌕
“We could do very cool things like have a Moon Base, like Moonbase Alpha” @elonmusk
With clear direction from @POTUS, NASA returning American astronauts to the lunar surface, building humanity’s first outpost on another world, and our commercial partners like @SpaceX and @BlueOrigin are playing a critical role.
The first Moon Base mission launches this December, followed by near-monthly cadence of uncrewed lunar landings beginning in 2027.
