Oct 20th it will be 20 years since my friend Mauro Parisi passed away and I am finding myself finally realizing that I wish I had created something for people like he and I. Restless. Manic. Depressed. Always seeking to forge a new path. I believe so completely that if you have the sentiment data in front of you, then it could help. Social media was so new when Mauro was alive. He would hate what it’s become. Marketing. I wish that people who gave in to the sadness could see a mood/bio connection and not take their own life. We buried Mauro on my 26th birthday 10-26.
I wish that Mauro was still alive. I wish that he had realized that day that he was going through a dip in his mood. Maybe he was hungry or sad or something, but if he got a coffee and a sandwich instead of jumping off that bridge. I think about it. He’d maybe be with us. I know that there are days when I feel like how Mauro did. But I know that there are good days too. Sometimes it’s easy to forget and we need a reminder.
@MoodConnect reminds me that I want to hold on another day to help people who struggle with their mental health to get through as well.
I’m going to try to have the rebrand complete by my 46th birthday, the day we buried Mauro, Oct 26th. Please join me in this journey and follow this work that is my life’s work.

I started moodconnect to create healthier workplaces and I now know that the Pelios 5 model was created to prevent suicide, to help people with managing their own mental health. I’m actively working in the mental health and neurodivergent community to build a better way to collect and use this sentiment data.
