Given our reputation as the skin cancer capital of the world, why isn’t there a national screening program? It turns out the question of whether to screen everyone is complex. TRI-based Professor @hpsoyer from @UQ_News explains why in @ConversationEDU. bit.ly/4gKeQ8U

A new year with the same old scams. A whole new bunch of punters have started to follow in the last few months so I thought I would start 2025 just like last year, by pointing out the biggest scam ever pulled on the Aussie punter that is still being run to this very day! #auspol

The Environment Minister was asked to reconsider the #climate impacts of three major mines - and sided with the coal companies.
These are MAJOR coal mines, that would have a combined area that covers most of Greater Sydney.

ACF Investigates Update
We have uncovered more than 11,000 hectares of destroyed bushland—an area about two-thirds the size of Royal National Park, NSW.
This destruction threatens species like koalas, greater gliders, and glossy black-cockatoos.
Here’s what we’ve uncovered so far:
6 cases of ongoing clearing
12 cases to be reported to authorities
71 cases opened, with 36 active investigations across NT, Qld, SA, and WA
Thanks to over 450 citizen scientists, we’ve scanned 2.3 million hectares—roughly the size of the ACT.
The project is live until December 9, and anyone can participate with a mobile, tablet, or computer.
