Sarah was going through a tough time. She was struggling with digital; literacy and maths skills and it was affecting her daily life. She couldn't even help her daughter with her homework and felt like a failure as a parent. 🧵1/2

But then she met Anju, her advisor from Leicester College. Anju listened to Sarah's concerns and helped her to create a plan to improve her skills. They worked together to improve her CV, and Anju showed Sarah how to use top job sites to search for employment. 🧵2/3

Sarah given a sim card with access to free data, which opened a window of opportunity to be able to contact anyone anywhere. Sarah was also helped to apply for a lower rate bus pass so that she could attend a maths course at Leicester College. Sarah said:

Cooking can help young kids learn and practice some basic math concepts and build language skills. Preparing meals with children can help build their self-confidence, help with emotional well-being and lay the foundation for healthy eating habits. @LiveWellLeics
