So really this is just an astounding signal of political sensitivity about the energy transition.
A year or two ago they'd be crowing about the benefits that renewable energy is bringing to the region.
But now, they're ashamed of the extreme costs... and bending over back wards not to associate the investment with renewable energy.
They know the business case for renewable energy is completely cooked. They're throwing billions and billions after it, hoping no-one will notice the economic obscenity of it all.
This money would never get spent to support farmers and regional residents. And it's not being spent anywhere else in the regions that needs it!
No this is just to hide yet another cost of renewable energy, moving insanely bulky, heavy, imported material from ports to deep inland.
What a moment in politics. When mega-investments that will help regions are afraid to name their sponsor.
Net zero and the renewable energy transition is politically dead indeed.
The question is just how much economic damage gets done before that message propagates through the political process.

In contrast to the nonsense on the cost of electricity from the wind and the sun, a surprising dose of honesty appears in the climate impacts section.
1% change in GDP... by 2066?! With the extreme 3 degree scenario vs zero warming!
Let's take our chances on getting some real growth! We could be ahead in just a couple years of Keating-Howard era growth.
Likewise, the disaster impacts are small.
This is just not worth hobbling the economy for! 4/4

How much of farmer depression and anxiety - alarmingly now affecting over half of farmers - can you put squarely on government attacks on the sector?
How many can you name?
And now the govt pulls the rug out of ag by stopping Working Holiday Makers coming for harvest, over a third of the required workforce.
And is wanting to remove the diesel excise rebate.
I found these 2 just in this week's papers!
Where does it end?

🚨 Dutch farmers literally formed a shield of tractors
A shield is exactly what free people need against the Agenda 2030 crowd, the WEF, and the politicians and corporations pushing “sustainable” policies that destroy the people who actually grow our food.
Farmers across the West are under coordinated attack in the name of SDGs. The result is not sustainability. It is fewer farms, higher costs, and greater dependence on distant supply chains controlled by the same interests writing the rules.
Food security is national security.
No farmers → no food → no future.

🇳🇱EUROPE’S FARMERS ARE ROARING — AND THE WORLD IS WATCHING
Thousands of Dutch farmers. Tractors on the streets. A movement refusing to disappear.
Footage coming out of the Netherlands is extraordinary.
And it raises a question that should concern every European:
Why are so many farmers prepared to take their fight this far?
These are the men and women who grow the crops, raise the livestock and help put food on Europe's tables.
Yet many believe policies imposed by their own governments and the European Union are making their livelihoods increasingly impossible.
This is bigger than farming.
FOOD SECURITY.
NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY.
THE RIGHT OF PEOPLE TO DETERMINE THEIR OWN FUTURE.
And there's another dimension to this.
Would scenes like these have received the same international attention before Elon Musk bought Twitter and transformed it into X?
Whatever you think of Musk, platforms that allow ordinary people to bypass traditional media gatekeepers have fundamentally changed how movements like this are seen around the world.
The Dutch farmers are making themselves impossible to ignore.
And farmers across Europe will be watching.
WHEN THE PEOPLE WHO FEED A NATION TAKE TO THE STREETS, PERHAPS IT'S TIME THE POLITICAL CLASS STARTED LISTENING.

Chris Bowen would have had to use tax payer money to buy that farm so he could stand on it without being shot. The hatred in the regions for this man are palpable.

Not one reply.
He has time to fine twelve farmers $814 each. He does not have time for us.

Every time we move sheep, cattle, machinery or drive around the block we have ongoing disruption to the working day
Every time , every year.
Every year there's more red tape and compliance
All I say is be educated on what are the ramifications of chasing the easy $$
