Our Fire Control Centre is the beating heart of our Command and Control system. Our Fire Control teams are extremely experienced at allocating assets. 999 is the fastest way for us to respond when you need us.
This is really important. Be very careful when recharging batteries.
🛴 Did an e-bike or e-scooter make it onto your Christmas list?
🔋 If you plan to plug it in the moment it's unwrapped, NEVER charge it in a corridor or room that provides the only means of escape.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service is on duty over Christmas maintaining normal readiness to keep our communities safe. Nadolig Llawen. Merry Christmas. @WelshGovernment
I was delighted to officiate at the reopening of Treorchy Fire Station following refurb alongside the Mayor of Rondda Cynon Taf and with Commissioner Vij Randeniya. We also celebrated that Watch Manager Simon Bound has been serving in SWFRS for over 39 years.
On Monday I met up with our highly skilled and specialised Fleet and Engineering Team who maintain our fire appliances, vehicles and other fire and rescue equipment. They play a vital role in maintaining the operational readiness of the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service.

📞 Please report fires through 999 rather than through our social media channels.
🚒 999 is staffed and answered 24/7 by our Fire Control team for them to dispatch crews as necessary.
Today I visited Malpas Red Watch, did RTA training and went up Maindee Red Watch’s Aerial Ladder Platform. Malpas was called out the Fire Control Team. The speed of response and professionalism of our personnel keep our communities safe 24/7. @SWFireandRescue @WelshGovernment
Graduation day today at Cardiff Gate Training Centre. A fabulous display of the firefighting skills was put on for the families and visitors. I was honoured to take the salute from the graduating course and present graduation certificates and prizes.
Today at Abercarn Fire Station, I met new recruits on the first weekend on call course. This new approach allows recruits, unable to take time off midweek, to complete weekend training to join SWFRS as on call firefighters in addition to normal jobs.

Tremmers,
I can taste the dust and feel the heat looking at this photo.
Yesterday at RAF Valley, I awarded Wings and silver sixpences to sew behind them to our newest batch of fighter pilots in the Royal Air Force. A moving ceremony for all - it is a key highlight in any fighter pilot’s career.
I was on board HMSQNLZ a few months ago this picture gives and idea of just how vast the ship is. Much bigger than the Invincible Class I flew from a few years ago.
.@HMSQNLZ sailed from Portsmouth yesterday following 96 hrs alongside to repair aircraft lift chain defect and take on stores & fuel.
She has resumed #UKCSG23 deployment operating in the North Sea and is now under NATO command for the first time, participating in exercise #NeptuneStrike which spans Europe and the Mediterranean @STIRKFORNATO
