Being a Chicago Sports Fan, we would wait for Jerry or Michael Reinsdorf or a McCaskey to make changes & they never happened until the teams hit rock bottom. I'm hoping, but wouldn't bet against this occurring at the Sky press conference (if they even have one?) AI put this together but I don't disagree with any of it- But I don't think any sports owner would retain these 2 based on record/future and that is fact

I hope more WNBA writers are honest like this- The ironic thing is, even though this is a well-written summary of thoughts, the Sky is so out of the modern WNBA in every component, I'm sure you could follow this up with 10 more critical articles.

One of the worst, if not the worst, organization in all sports. Their coach has a .305 winning percentage over 2 years. Their GM has a .311 winning percentage over 3 years & Michael Alter, the owner, feels this is the most important announcement he can make to the media about the Chicago Sky that will determine their future.
The Chicago Sky have officially banned Enes Kanter from team events, with owner Michael Alter saying he’ll have to prove he can follow their rules before being allowed back. 📸 Getty

These coaches are so Old Guard Sisterhood Protective. You have the #2 pick in the draft with a group of underachieving aging players who are like in 11th of 13th place and your only answer is- “It’s certainly on the table?”
Asked Lynne Roberts before tonight’s game if Cameron Brink starting during this final stretch at some point is a possibility. Roberts said “that’s certainly something on the table.” Full video below:

So the only thing the Sky has gotten from their "Developmental" Squad this season is ?????? Coulibaly- One 3 pointer all year. It was horrendous roster management. They could've kept Van Lith. They never needed Cloud or Carrington. If they started with Van Lith & Westbeld on roster- They could've found 2 upside players for the DS. No one claimed Coulibaly on the DS when she was there, yet the Sky still gave her a contract. Sometimes, it's not the eye catching moves that make or break a team. It's transactions like this

So senseless. He can cut Cloud, Carrington, Banham, Coulibaly- anyone who is not under contract next year, eat a couple $, and put Maddy on the active roster. You're NOT making the playoffs! Bibby & Westbeld were quality people & had the ability to stretch the floor- And just like Van Lith- You just let them go for nothing & replace them with veterans who have led you nowhere again. The only ones who matter for 2027 are Sheldon, Taylor, Rickea, Jaquez. That's it
Maddy Westbeld has signed an offer sheet with the Mercury.

I'm sure the 13 minutes COMBINED those two logged, along with the 2 COMBINED rebounds & 0 COMBINED points was the key component that led the Fever to victory - Thus proving the Ion Marketing team a genius in forecasting an accurate game promo ad
You guys… please. You can’t be serious?!

Do announcers (and Tyler Marsh) ever look at simply the numbers when they make a comment like, "The Sky still think they are in the playoff hunt??" The Chicago Sky are now 8 games down in the Loss Column with 10 to play to qualify for the 8th & final playoff spot & do NOT have the head-to-head tiebreaker with Liberty, Wings, Mystics. It's not that difficult

Ignoring a problem doesn't make it go away. It only makes people wonder why you're avoiding it.” (I checked, no one else has quoted that yet so it's mine!)

OK. Tweeted it over a year ago. Yes Satou is out now, but either Sheldon or Leite alone would be wiser youth & value this year and going forward than any of those other three- Well, down to one now
Replying to @WNBA @valkyries
And just think- The Wings thought Arike, Carrington , and Smith were the solution to pair with your #1 pick going forward instead of Carla, Jacy, & Satou. And the GM is still employed

Gabriela Jaquez averaged approximately 29.4 minutes per game in the Chicago Sky’s first 5 games of the 2026 season. The Sky went 3-2 in those games with 4 on the road & victories over Golden St. & Lynx. Injured in game 6- Her minutes were cut to 17.6 minutes per game since returning in Game 11 through last night’s game at Seattle. By contrast, Cloud has averaged 28.6 min per game in that same stretch & The Sky have gone 8-15. In last nights loss to the worst team in the league, 34 yr old Cloud played 32 min, & 37 yr old Vandersloot played 26 min, while 22 yr old Jaquez totaled 4 min. Vandersloot is averaging 25 min per game over the last 6. At a time, where rookies are increasing minutes even on good teams, Gabriela sits while minutes to go to aging vets on a really bad team NOT in the playoff hunt. Absolutely senseless

I trust your expertise, being that we are only one of a select few that actually can see this every game. And now I get the joy of watching the 72 years of combined age "mandatory closers" on a losing team from my DVR
Did it again tonight. Down 10 he puts her back in, they cut the lead to 4, he takes her out for Sloot and predictably, Chicago loses by 9.

Even if you separate everything that happened, from a business, organizational, & development standpoint- Why is Carrington still rostered on the Sky? Out of contract next year. Unless you talk to anyone but Marsh- Team is 7 GAMES out of 8th spot with 13 to go. The numbers don't add up. You're not making it. Suspension Looming- Are you really going to bring her back last 3 games at best scenario & sit Jaquez down?? You'll still probably have to pay her to not play, so open up a roster spot Release her. Set a precedent. Year after year, this happens in the Jeff GM era. It is both players AND organization. Save face like the Bulls did with Ivy, Karnosovas, & Everly. Clean house- Get quality players who you can build with- Both on and off the court
