I was ahead by 10 months on embeddable native apps within @MoldableAI This is really cool though and it's fun to see where these patterns are going! Just want to keep pushing people to make the world malleable (and fwiw, still ahead in a few other fun areas)
I built Apple Reminders…inside ChatGPT. This is real, and it's a native ChatGPT Extension you can try right now. Free and open source. Version 2.0 of my Reminders CLI, RemCTL, is out now with complete support for MCP and the brand new @OpenAIDevs MCP Extensions. With RemCTL 2.0, you have a power-user interface for Reminders inside ChatGPT for Mac. You can use keyboard shortcuts, there's a ⌘K palette, and view tasks as lists, Kanban, or Calendar. It's basically "Reminders Pro". But most importantly, you can work with ChatGPT in this Reminders UI and ask it to do whatever you want. Attach any task to a conversation, or select multiple ones and pass them to ChatGPT. I was inspired by @danshipper's concept of "Codex apps", and when I saw @mxstbr's announcement yesterday, I knew what to do. This feels like a brand new way of getting work done, and I'm excited to build more. Have fun! github.com/viticci/remctl

And after all apps become chat, all apps will soon become a super app... like @MoldableAI Fun to see everyone converge on the same primitives (except this is just my solo project for ~9 months, no big team)
Muse for Mac is live! 💙 It can start to do cowork style tasks for you for free, like clean up and manage your local files, notes, messages, calendar, and many other integrations. The shipping speed here is quite insane! Try it! ai.meta.com/muse/download/

AI is an experience engine, just like humans were meant to be Some software engs were good at creating experiences first and working backwards into code; others weren't Code is noise, only user experience matters
Most software engineers are facing an identity crisis bordering on depression. As CTOs aggressively evangelize tokenmaxxing, a class divide ensues. The lazy. The lazy push code. They don't write it. They don't manually test it. They don't even read it. They're on autopilot. See Jira ticket, prompt for task, submit code. Many of them are barely on their computer the whole day. A comment on the PR asking why they did this? The lazy ask AI. A Slack message? The lazy ask AI. Need to prepare for standup? The lazy ask AI. As long as it sounds enough like them and isn't detected. Some of the lazy are even overemployed, and work multiple jobs. The lazy smart ones get away with this, and even rewarded. After all, software engineering for the lazy is just a dance to convince your colleagues you're smart and hard working. The craftsmen. The craftsmen are tired. Very tired. 15 PRs in queue. Slack blowing up. The entire burden of review falls on the craftsman. The burden of understanding. They try. They work their way through the code, thoughtfully commenting to improve what ships. The response? A lazy: "That's a clever idea! You're absolutely right." with an incorrect change. It's fine, the craftsman says. I can fix them. They write a doc urging his colleagues to be better. The next day? 20,000 line PR to review. Day after day, their workload grows. Bugs seep into production. No one seems to care. Another round of AI is thrown at it. Their animosity to their colleagues rises. Eventually, they give up. It's just not what it used to be. The craft they loved is dead. They eventually wake up, a lazy. This isn't all companies. Many companies are genuinely more productive, adopt the right set of principles and practices around AI development and have highly talented teams that trust each other. It tends to happen in bigger companies that are 10+yrs old with a higher talent variance. But it happens. A lot.

Own your apps, own your data, own your experience.

Replying to @karpathy
Why is no one pushing on "moldable software"? The entire internet should be mutable and personalized. I'm already experimenting with this on @MoldableAI and it's clear we need to rethink cloud + dev frameworks + even local filesystems

Had @MoldableAI build a Database Browser app to replace a paid one, pretty happy with the result (& free for you to use) Fast Cmd+K switching, can chat with my database schemas or suggest or tune queries for me and save them for later use, and all credentials secure and unreadable via aivault This is personal software, the way I want it... and AI-powered. Free in Moldable: moldable.sh/apps/database-br…

Everyone building exactly the same thing: Claw OS, kanbans, Claw for Blah, Claw + easier setup / hosting X timeline is like 1,000 screaming 🦞 in boiling water You’re experiencing personal software for the first time. You’re not a builder, you’re a customer You built something that worked for you and now you want to sell it to other people, but a big part of personal software is that we all build something that works for us individually, for free Why would I want to use what you built when I could just build it myself with a few magical words? Why would I want to pay to have my apps on your platform or to use your API keys when I can just get the wholesale price for everything now? “Oh, but my grandma would never build her own apps!” … this is gonna be no different than social media where a small minority builds a lot for the majority, and what doesn’t get built will be automated through agents So sure I’m proud of you for building a new thing using a few prompts and your Opus/Codex plan, but I hope you see soon that that’s the entire point: you’re a personal software user now. You just might not realize it yet You’re just early enough to remember what software used to be like to build and buy, whereas a lot of people will just will whatever they want into existence soon without even knowing your thing exists. They won’t need you. Why should they? The path to frictionless creation isn’t to put yet another paywall or “use my app!” plea for life in people’s path Think bigger, build bigger How could you give back a billion years of a happy, stable life to the working class? Do that.

Use protection. Assume every skill is malware & your keys will be stolen, so use a vault (aivault.moldable.sh) Assume you're really bad at security... because you likely are, it's not your job Assume your AI agent will make mistakes, because they do all the time You're one mistake away from a really bad day Just wait until people start giving their agents a wallet to use...

moldable is me... it's my way to mold the world how i want it to be. with a wish for every site on the web to be moldable to my needs i started coding at 11 years old (delphi programming, thanks @ahejlsberg) with the same mission i have today: to be free, to build for fun, to make the world work how i want it to and to empower you to do the same
Ah, the holy war of which Notes app is the best... how about your own? 🤔 All local, all searchable, all private, all the way you want it Every app on Moldable is free & open source (just like Moldable itself). Want it slightly different? Just ask and Moldable will change it in real time, right before your eyes
