As a researcher who uses #CGAL and CGAL-based tools a lot on daily basis, this is an exciting news. Looking forward to test the new functionalities.
The beta release for the next version of CGAL (6.0) is now available!
C++17; four new packages (kinetic surface reconstruction, polygon repair, ...); Boolean operations for polygon soups; sizing fields added to tetrahedral remeshing; and much more!

Definitely it was a great pleasure to work with him.
Pedro Carvalho Ferreira also enthusiastically defended his MSc thesis today! Pedro developed a Finite Element Method framework to understand mass transport in various electrode geometries.
It was great to have him in our group! Congratulations to Pedro and @MojBarz !
I couldn't agree more. Truly a great pleasure.
Today Martin de Waal defended his MSc thesis where she used openFOAM to simulate transport phenomena in redox flow battery reactors.
It has been a pleasure to have him in the group!
Congratulations to Martin and his main supervisor @MojBarz for the excellent work!

#ParaView installation is quite straightforward, as expected from such a fantastic tool. You just grab and run the binaries, and that's it. But what if we need to build it from the source codes? Believe it or not, this is also very easy 👇

Dr. Mojtaba Barzegari (@MojBarz) discussed his ongoing efforts and ideas to develop a multiscale computational framework to simulate interface-coupled problems in flow batteries!
Moji has brought new computational tools into our group and we are learning a lot with him!
Check out our recent work if you are interested in coupling various types of simulations. In this work, we employed #Eulerian biodegradation simulation results into #Lagrangian structural mechanics models to study how corrosion affects the strength of jaw bone implants.
⚠️Paper alert 🖋️
Congrats to P. Ansoms, @MojBarz, J. Vander Sloten and @LiesbetGeris for their new research paper on the coupling of biomechanical and biodegradation models for studying the biodegradable mandibular bone fixation plates 🦴
