2k for a plate of food, that is 8.7m in 4 years. If you still sell your vote for anything less than 8.7m, you be fool.

This inDrive dispatch rider said he went to pick up a package, only to discover that it was a big bag. The rider said it was too big for him to carry and asked the customer to cancel the order, but the customer refused.
The rider also said customers are aware that if he cancels the ride, inDrive will block him for six hours for cancelling just one…. This is really sad for real, Nigerians needs to do better💔💔

Well done Senator Ireti Kingibe for exposing the passed tax law that will force Nigerians to pay 25% of their earnings if Tinubu wins in 2027.
The opposition must go everywhere and tell the people, in their own language, how this tax and the electricity subsidy removal will worsen their hardship.

In hindsight, getting the MTN FibreX may not have been the best decision.
Having my internet depend exclusively on when NEPA gives me light is just stupid.
Very stupid, in fact.

Breaking News; Rep. AbdusSamad Dasuki has once again raised the alarm over a fraudulent provision in the Electoral Act, which we believe poses a serious threat to the integrity of the 2027 elections.
As seen in the video, even the Speaker of the House, who is a member of President Bola Tinubu’s APC, appeared visibly unhappy with Dasuki raising the matter on the floor of the Assembly.
We therefore call on opposition leaders and all Nigerians to demand an explanation and insist that the National Assembly reject this attempt to undermine the people’s mandate.

A Yemeni gun shop is selling this beautiful MG42, locally known as the “Hitler machine gun.”
The asking price? 800,000 Yemeni riyals, or roughly $3,387.
Imagine the collector’s market in the U.S. if something like this could legally be imported. The potential value of a piece of WWII history like this is on a completely different level.

May I add that if you're not a very determined and strong-willed person, the requirements a person is expected to meet before one can sue a disco is very daunting.
I am almost certain that for every 10 matters that would have ended in court against them, 7 were left to God by those affected because of the procedures. Out of the remaining 3, maybe one enjoys actual trial. P.O kills the other 2.
I was digging through one time. I came across a judgement. A learned Silk sued a disco and the P.O that killed his suit was to the effect that he didn't approach Forum before approaching the court.
About 4 steps, with each coming with needless bottlenecks that sap your resources.
And this is another issue with Nigeria. An entity could have a DG on its website as the head and you address a letter to that DG. Ms Akande at the front desk would have a perfunctory glance at your letter and assert: "We cannot take this letter. Address it to Chairman. He is Chairman not DG." You change it to Chairman and return 2 weeks later to be told that he is no longer addressed as the Chairman, but the President.
Interestingly, matters of such nature interest me so much. It piques my curiosity and I want to know exactly how it will end.
The area manager of an entity once abused power in my estate. The estate said we should leave her to God, I said God has asked me to handle it. I wrote to her, demanding unreserved apology and undertaking not to attempt such in my estate again. She ignored my letter. I took it to the next authority. They transferred her from my area to another.
I wrote another letter and said: "No. Transfer doesn't solve it. She must apologise and undertake never to try such again, or else I will stress your system". The entity sent a 3-man delegate to my house on a Saturday morning. My letter promised hell first thing on Monday. They admitted that they didn't want to wait till Monday. They were polite. Their head of legal was steaming side glances at me. I knew why and they admitted it later. "You look too gentle for that letter".
After their apologies and good words, we shook hand and while they were leaving, I repeated: "The former area manager must write a letter of apology and undertake never to try such in this estate again". She did.
To survive in Nigeria, you must be a man or woman or steel. You must carry a scorpion-like tail and anyone who tramples on you or your right must get an offence-appropriate dosage.
In Abuja for instance, there's one of the platforms where the person meant to receive your complaint acts with reckless abandon and uses her discretion to determine which petition would be received and which would not be.
Saw this on one of my Whatsapp groups.
EKEDC IN DESPERATION
_____
I installed an 18kW solar power system at my property in Lekki Phase 1, relegating EKEDC supply to a backup status. Since then, I have been having more frequent visits from personnel of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), coming to check my prepaid meter.
On one of those visits, the EKEDC team stood watching the meter for motion to indicate consumption. When the meter wasn't moving, they called me to say they suspected I had bypassed the meter. I told them I had enough solar power for my daytime needs and only used their supply as a backup for the dark hours. To prove this to them, I switched on my inverter bypass for about 2 minutes so my consumption would be from EKEDC. They saw the meter rotating normally. They were visibly upset and one of them mumbled something like "This ọ̀gá no wan gree us chop". They left.
Today (19-Oct-2026), three of them came to my premises with a notice of disconnection. The last time I loaded an EKEDC token was in July 2026 and I still had ample units left. When I asked why they would disconnect me, they said the reason was "LOR" (Loss of Revenue). They said my slow consumption indicates a faulty meter and I had to pay them ₦112,606 for loss of revenue.
I told them my meter was not faulty and that they could test it if they wanted. The lady said they were losing revenue and they had to make up for it.
I didn't know whether to laugh or to be angry. I have no intention of paying EKEDC a dime for its loss of revenue due to my taking steps to protect my interest.
But, I share this story for all who are investing in solar power to know that the DisCos are now desperate. They now have "Loss of Revenue" as a reason for your disconnection from their supply. It is simply that they are not making enough money from you.
I am waiting for EKEDC to disconnect me from their grid before I lodge a formal complaint to the regulatory authority.
We are in interesting times in Nigeria!

Derek Rae has been calling soccer games for 40 years, and before every single one he fills a whole sheet of paper with tiny handwriting. Then the game kicks off and he barely looks at it.
That's on purpose. It's the same reason the cheat sheet you made in college helped you even on tests where you never flipped it over.
He said as much back in 2018, when he posted his notes from a World Cup game between Iran and Portugal. Rae's a languages guy, and writing everything out by hand and color coding it is how he gets it to stick. If he does need something fast, he just knows where on the page it is.
Psychologists put a name on this back in 1978. Two researchers, Slamecka and Graf, showed that stuff you produce yourself sticks way better than stuff you just read. So when Rae boils hours of research down into his own little shorthand, the boiling down is basically the studying.
The pen is doing work too. In 2024, a lab in Norway put caps with 256 electrodes on 36 college students and had them write words by hand, then type the same words. Writing by hand lit up connections all over the parts of the brain tied to forming new memories, and typing didn't light them up the same way.
Look at how he lays out the page, too. Real Madrid's on the left in blue and purple ink, Sevilla's on the right in red, with the squad numbers running down the margins. Researchers have known since the 1970s that people remember where on a page they saw something, usually without even trying. So when there's a VAR check or a guy's down injured and Rae has to fill dead air, one glance at the right color and the right row and he's got what he needs.
He's like this about names too. He speaks fluent German, and he's been known to call consulates to make sure he's pronouncing a player's name right.
It goes all the way back to when he was 7. His family in Aberdeen bought their first tape recorder in 1974, and little Derek started doing commentary into it during that summer's World Cup. He was on BBC Scotland by 1986 while still in college, and the next year, at 20, he won British Sports Broadcaster of the Year.
Rae's called at least eight World Cups, and he's still running the same play every college kid stumbles into the night before a final.

I think this might be the first time in American history you’ve seen a Muslim candidate demonstrate a part of their prayer in an ad like this.
