AIO or custom loop?
AIO: from $39.99, one sealed unit, cools the CPU only.
Custom loop: about $316 for a CPU loop, about $576 with a GPU block, and it grows with your build.

D5 or DDC?
D5: bigger, quiet at normal speeds, the pick for most loops.
DDC: much smaller, pushes harder through restrictive loops, runs warmer.
Tops are not interchangeable, so match the top to the pump.

How many fittings does a custom loop need? Two per component: every block, radiator and pump/res has an inlet and an outlet.
CPU loop: 6
Add a GPU block: 8
Second radiator: 10
