@mehdirhasan breaks down the ‘right to exist’ argument about Israel and why the discourse is clear Israeli propaganda plus he shares three ways you can counter-argument if you find yourself stuck in the same bullsh*t debate.

Suddenly "hate speech" is bad. Suddenly "dehumanizing" people is bad. Suddenly "cancel culture" is good. Suddenly words have consequences.

It had been hard for me to explain to my parents that there are still people out there who hear our voices—who care about what we’re going through—especially when the news often makes us feel forgotten by the world.
But today… something different happened.
I showed them the massive protests that took place in Sydney. I told them, “There are still people who care about us. We are not alone.”
We watched together as people stood in the rain, in this cold weather, chanting for us—for justice, for truth.
And in my parents’ eyes, I saw something that had been missing for a long time… I saw hope return, even if just a little.
Thank you to everyone who marched today, to everyone who raised their voice for us. You didn’t do it in vain. You gave us something that words can’t fully capture.

@piersmorgan to me, on genocide, on his show today. I cited retired Israeli general Yair Golan saying Israel is now killing babies as a hobby.

No filmmaker, writer or artist should ever have to tell the story of their own extermination. Yet 22 courageous Palestinian filmmakers found a way to film their story this past year in Gaza using whatever tools they could pull from the rubble of their homes and cities. The extraordinary film FROM GROUND ZERO — for which I am proud to be an Executive Producer — is the collection of these short films, told all together in under 2 hours. The fact that this film exists at all is a human and cinematic miracle. Go see FROM GROUND ZERO — in theaters now!
