My Sopranos theory is that Paulie made a deal with Phil Leotardo to set up Tony. Paulie hated being 2nd fidle to his friends son. Tony really hated Paulie too thats why he was contemplating offing him on the boat because he knew he told. However Paulie didn’t know that Tony already was preparing his 2nd & this time successful attempt to get Phil wacked. Tony (and possibly Carmela & AJ) gets wacked in the diner. The black screen is a reference to Bobby Baccalieri comment about not being able to hear a a headshot when it happens to you. Sil never comes out of the coma.
