Mohamed Adow, MP Wajir South: Upon graduation in 1998, I joined the BBC. Interestingly, my first entry into the BBC was not to do Kiswahili or English broadcasting but Somali. The BBC Somali Service which was probably the only meaningful media outlet that the Somali used to listen to. I became their north-eastern correspondent, a year later got transferred to Nairobi and then a year later got transferred to London as a senior producer for the Somali service #JKLive

As the most hardworking MP @Moadow Commissions a New Borehole in Habaswein today, Bringing the Total Number of Boreholes Successfully Drilled Since Taking Office in 2022 to 64, Further Expanding Access to Clean and Safe Water for Local Communities.
At this point, the people of Wajir South should ask themselves why these remarkable developments continue to add up in their constituency.
With the commissioning of the 64th borehole, the progress is visible for everyone to see. Even the county government has not matched the level of development that the people of Wajir South are witnessing.
The breakthroughs, results, and progress delivered by Mohamed Adow are truly phenomenal. His leadership has achieved historic milestones by turning the impossible into reality.
Notably and historically, Places like Lagboqol, which had gone without electricity since 1979, are now connected to the power grid. Likewise, Gerille, which had never had a borehole for 29 years, has finally received one. Under Adow, nothing seems impossible he continues to make the impossible possible.
Under Mohamed Adow, Wajir South has become one of the most improved and progressive constituencies. His leadership has delivered real results, and he has established himself as one of the region’s outstanding leaders with a clear vision for development.
Mohamed Adow is truly the heartbeat of Wajir South’s transformation, driving the constituency forward with remarkable progress, determination, and vision.
Indeed, Mohamed Adow not just leading Wajir South he is redefining what effective leadership looks like.

“Wajir South is today approximately 22,000 square kilometres, making it the second largest constituencies in Kenya after North-Horr.Historical boundary changes over the years have significantly reduced its size, underscoring the importance of securing community land rights through registration and effective local governance.
We must secure our land rights, govern our resources, and manage our affairs as communities. I believe the Community Land Act is God-sent. It gives communities the opportunity to protect their land, safeguard their livelihoods, and secure the future of generations to come.”

Long before the nation embraced the idea of taking national celebrations to historically marginalized regions, Hon. @Moadow had already operationalized the concept in Wajir South by rotating major constituency functions among Habaswein, Diif, Burder, Dadajabula, Sarif, and Leheley. This people-centred model ensured equitable visibility, fostered local development, and reinforced the principle that every community deserves recognition and participation in public affairs. The success of this approach stands as a testament to his commitment to inclusive leadership and grassroots development.

On behalf of the Government and the Republic of Kenya, I extend my sincere apology to the people of Northern Kenya for the hardships and exclusion you have endured over the years.
Your resilience in the face of these challenges is a testament to the strength and patriotism of this region.
Today, however, we are charting a different course. Our administration is making significant progress in restoring equity, expanding opportunity, and ensuring that Northern Kenya takes its rightful place in our nation's transformation journey.
