Liverpool's 'summer of madness' is delighting its fans in equal proportion to upsetting rival supporters. Once the Ekitike deal is concluded, transfer fee outlay will hit £260m- with further expensive incomings expected. This thread explains how the club is financing it.
We know Manchester City benefited from over £830m of illicit additions to sponsorship income courtesy of Abu Dhabi United Group (ADUG) between 2009/10 and 2017/18. I believe this did not stop, and continues to the present day. I believe ADUG paid City over £1.4bn since 2018/19.

Manchester City cheated Premier League rules, the Commission found. Did it also cheat HMRC?
We've examined the decision and leaked Mancini documents. We think City likely failed to pay £12m in tax.
There should be a criminal investigation.

Timely reminder of the compassion of some City fans and the sort of stuff journalists probing City have to endure.

I estimated the incredible level of Manchester City's financial doping way back in 2019, and it turns out I hadn't overstated the figures in the slightest.
Replying to @MoChatra
City's true financial position likely involves its owners breaking FFP rules by between £150m-£250m per annum. If that is brought to an end, fairness will be a by-product of a big power play.
This story is far from the foregone conclusion many think it is.
That's just overstating sponsorship revenue. It doesn't include any off-the-books payments to players, agents and other staff or the slightly less dubious practice of allocating City-related expenditure to City Football Group (the parent company).

Wow. One of the most damning sections of the Man City judgment is about witness credibility.
The Commission said (their words) that several key City witnesses gave evidence that was: False, Untrue, Dishonest.
That’s extraordinary, regulators rarely use language like that unless the evidence is overwhelming. And it matters because credibility is the foundation of many defences. If your witnesses fall, your case usually follows. City’s case fell hard.
