We just had 2 fab days of blacksmithing workshops with @strahanp from 9irons craft! We all smell like we were forged in the smoky coals and fire! Students made unique metal pendants with Patrick #heritage #arts #wellbeing @jcsplibraries @ellenfieldcc @cdetbcdu

The sad truth is that a large majority of children and teens are not facilitated to access their public library - for a variety of reasons. Equality of access to reading for pleasure & for information can only be provided through our schools. The time for action is now #Equality
Agree absolutely Philip. But for equality of access it is essential that school library services are enhanced - as recommended by the Oireachtas Education Committee. We need to see progress on this in the upcoming budget #SchoolLibrariesMatter

This article hightlights the very poor level of school library provision in Ireland. Implementation of the Joint Oireacthas Committee on Education recommendations needs to commence without delay @Education_Ire @NormaFoleyTD1 @SimonHarrisTD @campaign4kehoe @PDSTie @LAIonline
A special feature in today's Irish Examiner focuses on new research from @DCU_IoE @EQI_DCU on the lack of school library provision in Ireland @DCU @DCU_Research @JohnDoyleDCU @MsACassidy @SLG_LAI @ppdcuioe
