The name Lake Ontario comes from the Wendat word Ontari’io, which, appropriately, means “the lake is beautiful, the lake is big”.
The name is more than 400 years old, predating both the Confederation of Canada and the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America.
We know that America is changing. Their trading relationships, their foreign policies, their national monuments, their hydronyms.
Canadians also know that naming reality means calling it Lake Ontario – then, now and always.

I’m an anglophone living in Quebec. I have a lot of personal feelings about language laws & Quebec identity. That said, the Trump admin can go fuck itself before there will ever be a day where the US gets a say in how Quebec runs itself.

Whether it's a trade war with Canada or an actual war with Iran, the pattern is the same: Americans are paying the price for the President's choices.

Q: Was Howard Lutnick's involvement in the last days an impediment to getting a deal?
Carney: It's a question for the US administration. But I will say this, the Canadian team, unified, everyone knows what our objectives are. You cannot say that about the US administration.

#BlueJays fans will remember Rodger Brulotte's voice from when an 18-year-old Vladdy walked it off in Montreal.
This was a Brulotte trademark, born in 1989 from a Damaso Garcia walk-off. "“Da-ma-so! Da-ma-so! Da-ma-so!”
"Vla-di-mir! Vla-di-mir! Vla-di-mir! “Bonsoir! Bonsoir!”

To all ⚾️ fans not from Quebec, a pillar of the French baseball world just passed away. Listen to his passion in this ⬇️. One the giants of baseball is gone, RIP. Yes baseball in French is poorly known in the US but it is strong and proud. Thanks Rodger 🙏
