ALT Tara Theatre are horrified by the violent racism, discrimination, Islamophobia and hatred that has been taking place across the UK this past week. We strongly condemn every act of violence, intimidation and harassment directed towards the Global Majority, particularly Muslim, South Asian, Black, Refugee and Asylum-Seeking communities. Tara Theatre is a UK arts organisation that stands for equality and social justice. We have championed South Asian and Global Majority voices for almost 50 years, creating joyful, political and thought-provoking theatre.

ALT Tara Theatre was first recognised as a Theatre of Sanctuary in 2023, a space where all people are welcome. We recognise that this is a time when community and togetherness are essential. We will be hosting a two-hour facilitated in-person space this week where we can come together in a safe and supportive environment. For information on the event and how to take part, please contact us via DM or at [email protected] We are here, and we are a space for you.
