Y'all can defend her in the comments all you want, but like, At what point does the narrative allow women to choose themselves instead of constantly being the ones who have to understand, forgive, and sacrifice?

Okay, here goes me using my unlimited character count and exercising my free will to comment on this. 😂 1. On the misogyny issue Totally agree. If you have seen the movie, it is unfair for Cali to receive all the hate simply because she struggled to forgive her ex. However, let us not ignore that Cali also made questionable choices, particularly in portraying Gio as someone incapable of change. But that does not invalidate her pain or make her feelings any less valid. 1/5
Liza Soberano opening up about why she hated My Ex and Whys because of its misogynistic take, while also confirming that she and Enrique Gil no longer talk. Definitely a lot to unpack here. 👀

4. On not talking to an ex THIS IS NORMAL AND PROBABLY ONE OF THE MOST SENSIBLE HUMAN DECISIONS SOMEONE CAN MAKE. LET’S NOT MAKE THIS AN ISSUE. 4/5

Overall, some opinions may be unpopular, but that does not automatically make them wrong. We can disagree, question perspectives, and have nuanced conversations without turning every difference of opinion into a controversy. That’s all. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. P.S. i luv u @lizasoberano 5/5

‘I DON’T LIKE THAT MISOGYNISTIC TAKE ON IT’ Liza Soberano shared her thoughts on her 2017 film with Enrique Gil, “My Ex and Whys,” during her appearance on the TigerBelly podcast, saying that while she likes the movie, she has reservations about its misogynistic take on a woman who gets cheated on, speaks out about the relationship, and is eventually labeled a “manhater.”
