Lights off, eyes up 🌍✨
This Earth Hour, switch off your non-essential lights for one hour and give the night sky a chance to shine.
On March 28, from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM local time, people around the world will take part in this symbolic moment for the planet.
Earth Hour is more than just turning lights off — it’s a reminder to be more mindful of how we use energy and how even small actions can help protect our world. And for skywatchers, it’s also a perfect time to step outside, look up, and enjoy a darker, starrier sky.
Tonight, let’s celebrate our planet by dimming the lights and reconnecting with the universe above us. 💙🌌

🚀✨ Yes, the Apollo astronauts walked on the Moon… but they also hopped, bounded, shuffled — and, yep — fell. A lot. 😅🌕
In low gravity, even the best-trained astronauts had their balance tested. For the engineers who designed the suits, these wipeouts were nerve-wracking. For the rest of us, they’re just a reminder that even heroes have clumsy moments.
So if you need a laugh today, enjoy this hilarious supercut of Moon tumbles — brought to you by history, science, and 1/6th Earth gravity.

I’m very proud to announce my new series #Scandinavia
will start on @BBCTwo on 18th May … and on @BBCiPlayer of course.
It’s Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and what I’m calling ‘the wider Nordic family’ — Finland and Iceland as well.
From Svalbard in the very far north down to southern Denmark… 3 huge journeys.
Thanks to the wonderful team inc @TheGardenTV who made it possible, and the brilliant Scandis we met along the way.

Huge praise for our @WestMidRailway conductor just now - a passenger ignoring the 'No Smoking' signs was dealt with as follows: "I remind you that this is a no smoking train, so put the equipment away otherwise this train is stopping at the next station and not moving again (1/2)
