“This is the first time a terrorist killed someone in France because of their religion.” What the hell is Macron saying? 14 years ago Mohammed Merah broke into a Jewish school in the French town of Toulouse and executed a pair of 3 year old and 5 year old French Jewish boys. He then chased an 8 year old Jewish girl named Myriam Monsonego. Merah caught her by her hair and raised a gun to execute her. His gun jammed, so he changed weapons. He then shot the little girl in the head while filming the execution with his GoPro.
« Ce qui s’est passé aujourd’hui c’est un tournant. C’est la première fois qu’il y a un acte terroriste planifié pour tuer nos compatriotes, nos enfants, a raison de leur couleur de peau ou de la religion qu’on leur donne » « Ne baissez pas la tête » Emmanuel Macron à Trappes.

The second you make/wear an "alternative" poppy, you make it about you. You need to signpost how unique, special, more "engaged" you are compared to everyone else. It is the height of arrogant self importance.

Bring back finishing a job properly so you can have a fresh, untainted, start. When did winning a war become something to avoid at all costs?
🚨🇮🇱🇺🇸 CIA Gave Israel "Do Not Kill" List of Iranian Officials. The CIA passed Israel a list of about ten senior Iranian officials who should not be targeted for assassination - figures Washington believes "could play key roles in a future Iranian government".

Chanter à la gloire de Mohammed Merah, c’est honorer un homme qui a mis une balle dans la tête à bout touchant à cette petite fille. Puisse son visage vous hanter pour toujours.

Hello, UK question. Regarding device level ID for accessing social media due in March, surely if my account was opened in April 2009, I clearly must be over 16, will I therefore still be able to access X without submitting ID? @elonmusk

Please note this: M&S Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice (with bits). As I opened the bottle, I saw a not inconsequential amount of the liquid (and bits) clinging to the lid. Had I left the lid attached, there would be a non-zero chance the orange juice would gloop onto my white shirt. I therefore tore off the lid (attached due to the EU’s Single-Use Plastics Directive 2019/904) in order to make the product useable. It left a sticky scratchy bit of plastic at the top, which I now have to consciously think about avoiding as I drink my orange juice. My overall product experience has been made materially worse. Oh, and I ripped off the lid anyway. No one wins from this insane regulation.

Watching a woman in Sainsbury's opening and sniffing roll on deodorants, when she couldn't get a good sniff of one she used her fingers on the roller ball to get to the liquid. Just another reason I hate products not being sealed. People are disrespectful and unhygienic.

The idea that we now have a government that is actively discouraging people from improving their homes blows my mind. It seems care for your home, your street & your community is no longer regarded as a positive. You cannot tax people for improving their environment, it is wrong.

I work the front desk at a small doctor’s office, and I wish people could see what happens on the other side of the phone. Every day, older patients call us confused. They are told to use the patient portal, upload documents, check lab results online, fill out forms before the visit, and confirm everything through a link. Some of them do not know what a portal is. Some do not have a smartphone. Some have one, but they are afraid to click the wrong thing. Last week, a man in his late 80s called about his test results. He said, “Ma’am, I don’t mean to bother you, but the computer says I have a message and I don’t know how to open it.” He sounded ashamed. That broke my heart. He should not have to feel ashamed for needing a human being. Technology can be helpful. I understand that. But when people who built this country are made to feel helpless because everything became a login and a password, we have gone too far. Not everything needs to be an app. Not every answer should be hidden behind a screen. Sometimes people need a voice. A patient person. A real human who says, “Don’t worry, I can help you.” Progress should not leave seniors behind. Because one day, the world will move faster than us too. And I hope someone is kind enough to slow down.
