Pima County bureaucrats have caged a family dog for months and they still want to kill him. Snuggles is an Anatolian Shepherd who guards his family's three-acre ranch outside Tucson. One night he got spooked on his own ground. Coyotes howling, other dogs around, stress piling up, and a tap on the head. He nipped his grandmother. First time he ever bit anyone. Young dog with a busted hip from getting kicked by a cow as a pup. Just doing what a livestock guardian does when he feels cornered. The family begged to bring him home and offered to hot-wire the whole place if that is what it took. His grandmother, the woman he bit, has been fighting to get him back. She shows up at the shelter with flyers herself. People who work there say he is sweet and affectionate. But PACC and the prosecutors decided one scared nip means he has to die. They will not even let the family see him. That is not justice. That is a cold machine that cares more about rules and power than a grandmother's wishes or plain common sense. They have already drained this family of fifteen thousand dollars and now the dog sits alone in a kennel while they drag out appeals. These officials hide behind titles while they destroy lives over one mistake any stressed animal could make. Snuggles belongs back on that ranch where he can do his job and sleep at his people's feet. Not locked away because some director or prosecutor needs to prove a point. The right thing is simple.
