Skittles Equivalent Fractions 😋
We used skittles to work out equivalent fractions this week. S1 felt the hardest part was not eating the skittles.. 🤩😆
Square Number Towers ⭐️
S1 have been learning about square numbers, to show this visually we made square number towers 👏😄
So proud of these superstars! P7 at Beancross have shown perseverance and hard work this session, working on their numeracy skills 🤩 @missjlesko @MissMeikleBPS @GHSMathGHSMath
Scale superstars ⭐️
S3 became interior designers today as they made a floor plan for their dream house. They used a scale on each room to signify that every 1cm on the floor plan is equivalent to a specific about of metres in real life 👏
I was so impressed with P7 @BeancrossPS this morning!
We chose a jenga block each which had a percentage problem and used our knowledge of equivalent fractions to solve these on a whiteboard. P7 gave it their all and worked so hard 🤩 @missjlesko @MissMeikleBPS @GHSMathGHSMath
3D shapes 🤩
We looked at nets at the beginning of the week and made the net of a cube using cocktail sticks and blue tack! We turned our nets into 3D shapes which was fiddly but we showed great resilience 👏
Getting festive in S1 this week! We have made merry measure Christmas trees and calculated the area and perimeter of some presents 🎁🎄
Spot F who went the extra mile and added angles into her present too 🤩
We made times table paper chains this week to help Miss Bell decorate her classroom! They are an amazing Christmas decoration, thank you S1 👏
Show what you know 🤩
S1 have been working really hard this term. Today they had the opportunity to ‘show off what they know’. They did this by either completing a worksheet, making a poster or creating a presentation. So proud 📐🟨👏 #UNCRC #pupilchoice
Some of our pupils loving Lego club 😁🥳 @GHS_ASN_Faculty @GHSASC2
These guys loved playing addition and subtraction jenga to revise addition and subtraction with borrowing and carrying 🤩 They tried so hard to not knock it over and receive a maths forfeit… @BowhousePS @GHSMathGHSMath
S3 drew a ‘floor plan’ of their dream house and then calculated the area and perimeter of each room 🏠 This led to a great discussion about when you would use perimeter and area in real life contexts 🤩 @GHSMathGHSMath
