As the X-odus is continuing, here's a reminder I have an account on Butterfly Twitter. I'll still be active on Twitter, but I'm pretty sure those posts will be drowned out by spam and ads. – at Montréal, Québec

I thought I'd get more done during the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. Turns out I slept a lot more than expected. I should have updates on Pandemonium soon, I'm still tinkering with act 1 while animating act 3.

I'm still tinkering with act 1 in part because I want a consistent experience across all four acts, but also because there's elements missing that are outside of my control right now.

Okay, this looks interesting. Tho ... I must ask, shouldn't it have released in October instead? That's clearly more fitting with Halloween.

Normally I would follow an announcement with a picture of my name in the credits, but it appears there's no showing of the movie in theaters around here. Well, I got something almost better, you can see me working on the movie on the studio's website.

Oh, I was asked, and I suppose I should clarify. I completed my work on the movie before I jumped on SpongeBob, not after. I usually work as a CG generalist but for this production I was specifically working on building sets.

So I've had mouse buttons fail on my computer mice before, but it's the first time that the middle button is the one failing first. I didn't realize how much I use it until it started to fail.

So I bought tickets to the Vintage Computer Festival in Montreal next month. Turns out I have an old personal organizer I could use to organize my con schedule. I don't know how old it is, but I had one like that when I was a kid.

It's not the most intuitive thing to use, there's a shift button, but it doesn't switch letters to uppercase, for that you need the separate caps lock button, which you reach with shift+Z. There's a shift lock, which has nothing to do with caps lock.

One thing I really liked as a kid was to look at LCDs at an angle, to see the hidden segments and wonder what other features were hidden in there. Of course, there was usually a manual, but there was a nice sense of mystery in there.

So the first week back at the studio has been pretty good. Turns out I'm not working on one production, but two.

Needless to say, I can't use that computer for my personal projects, but that does free up my personal computer for more render time away from work.

Day 1 at the new job was interesting. I was assigned my computer and briefed on the nature of the project. This has a Ryzen 9 7950X with 128GB of RAM and a RTX A4000. Welp.
