Is a Background Check enough to protect the children in your ministry?
Many leaders assume a Background Check alone removes the risk of child sexual abuse, but this is simply not true.
Join Gregory Love, MinistrySafe CEO and Co-Founder, for our next webinar: Creating a Background Check Strategy – Part 1.
This webinar will cover:
- How Background Check systems work, with associated challenges
- The unique obstacles related to sexual abuse and the criminal justice system

October is Church Safety and Security Month. This is a good time to ask: if a crisis occurred in your ministry today, would your team know what to do?
A strong Safety System ensures that families walking through your doors know that their child’s protection is a priority, and it tells every staff member and volunteer that they're supported in doing their work well.
This month, take one step forward and use our free Safety Assessment to see where your ministry stands.

Today is National Child Health Day, a reminder that children’s health is about more than checkups and growth charts. It's also about feeling safe.
That's why protecting children from abuse belongs in the same conversation as their physical health.
This Child Health Day, join us in making safety a priority for the children in your care.

MinistrySafe is NOT in partnership with Pawleys Island Community Church.
MinistrySafe is committed to the prevention of child sexual abuse in churches and child-serving ministries. At present, MinistrySafe is serving more than 25,000 churches, offering safety system elements and background checks through an online platform. Currently, an average of 450 churches per month sign up for MinistrySafe Membership, which provides access to child protection resources in an entirely self-lead and self-implemented context. Earlier this month, Pawleys Island Community Church signed up to receive access to these resources.
On August 21st, media outlets reported that Pawleys Island Community Church (PICC) announced that it has ‘partnered’ with MinistrySafe related to an evaluation of child protection policies and efforts. ‘Partnership’ implies communication and agreement between PICC and MinistrySafe leadership; no such communication or agreement has occurred in any form.
While we are hopeful that this church is moving in the right direction where child protection is concerned, we have no relationship with the church or the now-defunct school.
Any reference to a ‘partnership relationship’ between PICC and MinistrySafe is misleading and inaccurate.

It often takes 5-7 times for a child’s outcry to be heard.
And 98% of children's outcries are truthful.
Children deserve to be heard and believed the first time.
