Good morning 🌞The move from primary to secondary school can be daunting for young people - how will you help support them?
If your child is about to move from primary to secondary school, make some time to talk to them about it. Here are some tips on how to ease any worries or anxiety they might have.

ALT 1/ Chat about how they are feeling and how it will be different from primary - for instance bigger site, new people, changing teachers and rooms for subjects, more homework. 2/ Reassure them that nerves about starting something new are normal, as is some sadness at leaving familiar things, and that these feelings usually get easier with time. 3/ Be careful not to impose your own worries. Instead, try and focus on exciting opportunities - new subjects, activities and friends. 4/ Celebrate the milestone of finishing primary school, and all the ways they have grown. This can help to boost their self-esteem and confidence.
It can be hard to fill those long summer days - love this initiative to help all children access books and reading materials. 📚
How many books can you enjoy this summer? Checkout the challenge from your local library! summerreadingchallenge.org.u…

Open the door to empathy and understanding this #DisabilityPrideMonth! These captivating picture books promote acceptance, kindness and the celebration of diverse abilities.
Disability Pride Month should remind us ‘that it’s not the disability that is the issue but the barriers in place to stop disabled people from participating or being included” 📣📷
