we are, in essence, the last generation of {human} beings born just in time to experience the ephemeral horror of rapidly accelerating advancement that will inevitably render our existence as prosaic ubiquity gone are the days of curiosity, mystery, and meaningful suffering

side quest for a friend; logo/banner/palette (and more otw) for @MetrasApp wanted the logo to feel organic and palatable; my idea was phoenix being reborn (new lease on life through habit changes/growth) meets the human ribcage (balancing act of protection and vulnerability

I finally put together a website for all the Russian/Soviet pharma research I’ve been digging through. molekul.io Figured this would be a lot easier than trying to search through months of my posts every time you want to find something. Peptides, actoprotectors, nootropics, papers, old Soviet research, obscure compounds, etc. It’s still very much a work in progress. I’ll keep adding papers, compounds and research as I find it. Basically turning the rabbit hole into a searchable database. Let me know what you want me to add.

strawberry is goated and the flavor I spent most time on, in person our goal this time around was to make something you could drink without destroying your enamel, something that you could sip on daily without getting tastebud exhaustion I think we did a pretty good job nitter.cf/mindofintra/status/210…

Greg Abbott has turned Texas from a magical place for sanity (except Austin) for families to raise children, build careers, and enjoy the good life. Now Texas is a Foreign Economic Zone. Not only has he worked to bring blue state leftist refugees en masse to Texas, he has worked harder to import Third World H1B foreigners who seek only to steal our livelihoods and scam the government. I consider Greg Abbott a domestic enemy.
“Texas will be a land for the Indian community”….. “and we will continue to celebrate Diwali here in the great state of Texas” Why why why would he do this? This is like rolling out the red carpet, no wonder these people are coming here to Texas.

putting your name on a fully ai “short film” is like taking credit for discovering microbiology because you’re also a human being. using a tool that augments your (innate or learned) ability to do something is quite different than an agent doing everything for you, requiring no context, knowledge, or experience beyond the basics, if that. i’m not worried though, it’s quite simple: the rule of first principles—if most people can’t perform a certain task, create something, or even learn specific subject matter due to limitations in systems-level context, knowledge / competence, etc? you have a moat. if anyone can make it, pick it up, or do it, it’s not nearly as big an accomplishment, let alone worthy of equivalent praise or money. in response, the highest skilled people in their respective fields will be using AI in a vastly different, optimized way that enables them to stand apart, just as digital painting in photoshop became a new way to create paintings (i.e using new tools); the difference this time is that the skill-gap / scenario-congruency is hardly comparable. the ratio of upper echelon talent in relation to the population within the field will be even more disparate in comparison to what we’ve seen before.
I've had a few 3D artists message me that this was too good/consistent/physical looking to be AI and that it must be 3D. But I am sorry to disappoint - It is AI.

You already declared yourself an enemy to Whites. This is why I loathe people like you. You're cowardly. I'm Comanche. When the Whites entered our hunting territory and tried to settle it, we fought them and drove them back for almost a century. We warred with them. There was no posing as a friend, or impersonating a White person and trying to undermine them from within. We fought them openly, in the way of men. Then, when the White won, we had peace, and that was the end of it. Your kind cannot do that. You lie and lie and lie and cheat and lie and one day you're angry and you declare war and then the next you mewl and cry like a woman that you're not being included in the category that you just declared emnity for. I laugh at you. I scorn you. I declare you weaker than a woman. You bring shame upon all those of your blood and your name I will not say aloud without spitting.
Replying to @DiaChakravarty
Am I ethnically English? Will your children be ethnically English? Will their grandchildren be ethnically English? Are you English enough? This is all nonsense: Englishness is not an ethnicity - it is a nationality and an ever-developing culture.

AI can never recreate how it feels to tame a squirrel in your backyard until it comes up to you, or jumps onto your chair, waiting for you to hand it food nature will always belong to the biological

still funny to think that russia made these high-performance, elite compounds for soldiers, pilots, military engineers, etc who are in physically demanding scenarios, just for (some) ppl to use it to write long-form on twitter and substack

intelligence, whether biological or artificial, is not simply limited by raw capacity, but rather the architecture of it's training, and more importantly, what it's allowed to encounter first inheriting incompleteness from the curriculum is a problem of it's own: a parent cannot give a child a map of reality they themselves dont possess; the same applies to dataset designers. so every act of sequencing, filtering, labeling etc can encode some, or most, of the curator’s blind spots, as well as any world-era, experience, or personality-specific assumptions, leading to unresolved contradictions the next AI model generations will not merely inherit knowledge, they instead will inherit the incompleteness
humans and AI share a notable bottleneck: both are constrained by the quality, structure, and selection of information (input) in relation to the desired endpoint (output) if you want your child to survive the world, you go through the arduous task of guiding them through all the lessons and “prerequisites” of life, that you deem necessary; the same can be said for AI, as the quality of its results rely on the data available from which it learns and trains a child doesn’t merely need information, they need a sequence of developmental -prerequisites- AI isn’t simply improved by more data, as it wouldn’t parse what’s correct without curation, so composition, sequencing, filtering, labeling, and quality of information are imperative that creates another dilemma: how can an imperfect intelligence (human input) reliably specify and cultivate the conditions necessary for artificial intelligence to recursively supersede itself

Menthol is surprisingly pharmacologically active It has local anesthetic properties via calcium/sodium channel blocking, and most interesting of all it is a mild kappa opiate receptor (KOR) agonist, the same receptor the "anti-endorphin" dynorphin acts on Menthol also has GABA-A modulation and glycine receptor activation Menthol actually binds the same allosteric site on GABA-A as propofol, a drug used in general anesthesia
What a study Eating peppermint candy made people happier and worse at remembering things A worthy tradeoff. Mintmaxxing

everything is going to be alright
Through the VOICE trial, Terry is using his Neuralink implant to help fine-tune a brain-to-voice interface for himself and others who can’t speak. He trained the algorithm first by miming speech as best he could, then by simply thinking the words and hearing them come out in his own natural voice. Powered by Grok Voice from @SpaceXAI

that rhetorical habit is also tangential to the dunning kruger curve, as the confidence in your new “intelligence” can express itself in the way you act and speak, especially if you lack humility nobody w/ expertise prefers overly complex language when it can be distilled into something palatable and easier to comprehend put some respect on feynman, as well as the vast and diverse scope of human intelligence in relation to the hard work put in, over hundreds of years, by millions of people
Lmao, the health influencers on here trying to sound authoritative and mysterious, using complicated jargon to explain something simple (usually a good sign they don’t fully understand it themselves) All that theater. We see you
