Tomorrow marks the second anniversary of the death of Rhiannon Whyte, who was brutally murdered by a Sudanese illegal migrant.
Her mother Siobhan is a remarkable woman who campaigns to prevent anyone else having to go through what her family has.
She invited me to speak with her in her home.
She told me that, astonishingly, Shabana Mahmood continues to refuse to meet with her.
This is what she told me:

Are we saying our ppl cannot be trained since 2014 so that 4 in 5 migrants are getting all the jobs in the UK?

This morning, I signed a landmark trade agreement with Tainan in Taiwan, strengthening ties between our regions and creating new opportunities for trade, investment and innovation.
Greater Lincolnshire has a huge amount to offer, and this agreement is another step towards showing the world what we do best. 🇹🇼 🇬🇧
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
UK mayors cannot sign binding international trade agreements (reserved for central UK government); official descriptions refer to this as a non-binding MOU for local cooperation, not a landmark trade deal.

“Looking at those great works of western man and remembering all that he’s achieved in philosophy, poetry, science, law making, it does seem hard to believe that European civilisation can ever vanish. And yet, you know, it has happened once. All the life giving human activities that we lump together under the word ‘civilisation’ have been obliterated once in Western Europe, when the barbarians ran over the Roman Empire.”

🚨 Trump says Canada will "end up being the 51st state because it's the only way it works."
Canada leans on America for its defense and its biggest market, then lectures us about everything.
Trump just said out loud what a lot of Americans have thought for years.
Canada can't keep taking from us and acting like we owe them.

As Home Secretary I will immediately shut down the asylum system.
Britain is full.
No more asylum.
No more free hotels.
I will clear the asylum backlog by deporting everyone in it.

HOW DO WE STOP THE BOATS?
I get asked this question constantly.
“Send in the Navy!”
“Turn the boats around!”
“Put more patrols in the Channel!”
My opinion is different.
Having spent weeks on the ground in France, watching this unfold with my own eyes, I believe the answer is far simpler.
France has played an absolute blinder.
Conditions in the migrant camps are appalling. Filthy, overcrowded slums that make France look like somewhere nobody wants to stay and Britain look like the land of opportunity.
Clever, when you think about it.
Then comes the next stage.
Buses transporting migrants, gendarmes walking groups towards the beaches like they’re on a school trip, and French vessels accompanying boats across the Channel until British authorities take over.
I’ve documented enough of this to form my own conclusions.
So here’s what I would do.
Stop handing France millions. We’re paying for a system that clearly isn’t delivering.
Detain everyone arriving illegally,
Identify, photograph and document every arrival.
Return every person to France
Invoice France for the costs. Yes, I know they probably wouldn’t pay.
End the perception that arriving illegally guarantees accommodation, financial support and a permanent future in Britain.
Make the journey pointless, and you destroy the smugglers’ business model.
People are paying thousands because they believe reaching British shores is the finish line.
Remove that incentive and why would they keep handing their money to criminal gangs?
I believe crossings could fall dramatically within weeks if that message became a reality.
No Navy warships required. No dangerous confrontations at sea.
Just a government with the backbone to enforce its borders.
It is not racist to believe your country should control who enters it.
It is not racist to demand that immigration laws are enforced.
And it is certainly not racist to believe that the British people and their interests should come first.
I’ve watched this operation from the beaches, the camps and the water.
Throwing more money at France isn’t my answer.
Remove the incentive. Enforce the law. Break the business model.
It’s time to put Britain first.

Kemi Badenoch lobbied for the Boriswave.
In 2015 the Tories promised you they'd cut immigration to the tens of thousands.
They then imported 572,000 in a single year.
For Kemi, that wasn't nearly enough.
In parliament in 2018, she declared: “I especially thank the Home Secretary for removing the annual limits on work visas and on international students: I lobbied for both on behalf of the Wellcome Sanger Institute and Anglia Ruskin university'.
She got her wish.
Her party then imported a mind-blowing 4.8 million people in less than 4 years.
Over HALF of them on the work and study visas that she lobbied to derestrict.
You cannot trust them to deal with immigration.
Reform will abolish ILR, ban all foreign nationals from all forms of welfare, and reverse the Boriswave.

This man flatly refused to leave the ECHR when he had a Home Secretary telling him that it was the way to stop the boats.
He’s a fraud, a liar and a duplicitous coward.
Read my book, ‘Patriot: Empire, betrayal and hope’ to find out how Rishi refused to do whatever it takes to stop the boats and failed the nation in the process.
The small boats crisis has gone on longer than WWII. I will always regret that I could not solve it.
We have to show people the journey is pointless. Rwanda was criticised as a fantasy, but the real fantasy is thinking you can stop the boats without it.
For some time I had said that if forced to choose between membership of the ECHR and our national and border security, I would pick the latter.
During my tenure, attempting to leave the ECHR with only two years left in the parliament and with no mandate to do so would have been a recipe for constitutional chaos. You couldn't resolve all the issues thrown up by leaving in 24 months with a fractious parliamentary party, a sceptical House of Lords and limited diplomatic capital. Other countries can read our opinion polls.
With the help of KCs, we'd done extensive work on leaving. The plan was to say in the election campaign that we'd seek radical reform of the convention and the court, and leave if that could not be achieved quickly.
Like so many things in that campaign, it didn't go to plan, and we dropped the idea after Nigel Farage entered the race, for fear it would be dismissed as a panic move and make it harder to focus the election on tax and the economy.
With a mandate, a majority and a five-year term, it would be very different, and worth doing.
My Sunday Times column today looks at how 👇

I'm going to lay this out as simply as I can Shobhit. I'm not going to be a dick. No hate. Just laying it out for you.
The reason why you're seething at the admins decision, is the same reason why H1Bs shouldn't be imported en masse to take these jobs. Here we go:
- You don't possess a magical skill that Americans (as a broad athnos) lack. 99% of the time, H1B hiring is pure economics. You will do the work for cheaper.
- Culture (both in business and in civic life) changes based on demographics. We're not blank slates. This is a fact. 100 Americans brought into a department at an Indian company, would fundamentally alter the culture and environment of that company. There would be friction between these groups because of natural in-group preference.
- You are not entitled to a job at an American company. Perhaps, you should express some gratitude, rather than speaking down.
- Proactive Government policy should incentivize the hiring of native born citizens. America is not an economic zone. It is a people, culture, and identity. There are tens of thousands of smart, driven, and talented young Americans struggling to find work because of the H1B program. What is better for America, in the long run, is to incentivize the hiring of these individuals.
- H1B workers send billions of dollars BACK to their home country in the form of remittances. These are minimally taxed. Your money doesn't stay here because this is not your home.
- Numerous loopholes in the H1B program allow for individuals such as yourself to then bring over numerous family members which are a net negative to the American taxpayer.
- Since you're exceptionally talented (more so than an American) and love your country so much, your own logic would dictate that you should stay in your home country. India needs you.
I hope this helps.
When Amazon hired me on an H-1B visa, Amazon was making losses for 10 straight years. It was operating out of a rented building where we worked on door desks in small cabins. I was in the initial team that built AWS.
Today AWS contributes more than 60% to Amazon's profit. The stock price has gone 300x. Amazon's buildings have changed the skyline of downtown Seattle. Jeff Bezos went on to become the world's richest man.
There were about a hundred H1B visa holders like me in the initial team of Amazon. Good luck building companies and wealth without these 'indentured servants'

Kemi Badenoch says she got into politics because she was angry about Africa. How Africa was portrayed. How international development worked. How Africans weren’t being heard.
My heritage is African too. But I sure as hell didn’t enter politics to ask what Britain could do for Africa.
I entered British politics for one reason: to fight for Britain and the British people.
The country that welcomed my parents. The country that gave me opportunities beyond anything they could have imagined. The country I am proud to call home.
You shouldn’t be a politician to use Britain as an instrument for your ancestral homeland.
Britain must be the reason you’re there. Britain. Every single time

I visited Gosport today, the latest ground zero for the invasion of Britain.
This proud community, many of whom are military families, are devastated.
Right by the home of the Royal Marines, invading men were given police escorts.
Their community was locked down.
They feel utterly devastated, betrayed and helpless.
Reform will not let them down.
We will get our country back 🇬🇧

One of the first things I will do as Home Secretary is detain and expel from our country the invaders enjoying Burnham’s police escorts.
They will soon learn what it feels like to be on the other side of British state power.

Invasion of illegal migrants at Portsmouth, the home of the Royal Navy.
Broken Britain.
TERRIBLE. Still on the front line and just heard an officer say they are ‘expecting arrival within 15 minutes’. 15 minutes and our shore has been invaded again.
This means undocumented men are being disembarked at Portsmouth Harbour, THE HOME OF THE ROYAL NAVY.
What has our country become when we are allowing the invasion into our naval water way. I’m actually horrified.
And last week the shameful Lib Dem’s assured us no more boats would come to Portsmouth. Well yes Fort Blockade may be technically Gosport but they are coming into Portsmouth Harbour!
Shameful.
