you’d think that @peacock would have been able figure out how to make their website not crash every Sunday but here we are again
just in time for @peacock to shit the fucking bed
so in this scenario, you, with shit still in your ass, would pull up your pants and drive/uber around an unfamiliar town to find a store still open past 10pm, so that you could then buy toilet paper to continue wiping the shit from your ass?
Replying to @OrevaZSN
Let me give you the owner’s perspective: that condo you rented isn’t a hotel. There isn’t an endless supply like there is at Hilton. There’s no need to contwxt the owner at 10 pm. Go to the store.
Also, if the owner left extras, the guests would raid the closet and take it ALL home. Guaranteed.

"Pokemon" is short for "pocket monsters".
"Digimon" is short for "digital monsters".
Therefore, "salmon" is short for "saltwater monsters".
(You might object: salmon spend a big part of their life in freshwater. But pokemon spend a big part of their life outside pockets too!)
The 9-to-5 system should be completely abolished. Workdays should be 10-3 or 9-2. There’s no reason people should spend most of their lives at work. Let people go home and have time for their families, partners, friends, and rest. This is why so many people hate their jobs.

It’s wild seeing people say I’m “misinterpreting” what he said when my response was directly about THESE lines:
“The average collector hits a chase now and immediately has no choice but to think about selling…”
and
“A day to day collector can’t sit on a raw card worth over a grand and consider that responsible.”
That’s literally framing selling immediately as the “responsible” thing to do.
My point was simple:
If you collect within your means and spend responsibly to begin with, you DON’T have to instantly think about selling a card you genuinely wanted just because the market price in insane.
There are literally people in his replies like "I pulled the ________ SIR, and I really wanted it, but I had to sell it immediately".
Responsible collecting should allow you to actually enjoy and keep your grails… not feel pressured to cash out the second you pull them.
Here's goes probably a very hot take:
If you have to consider selling the chase after opening, perhaps you shouldn't be spending $100's to open trading cards.
I have never had to sell a chase because of monetary situations, only to upgrade my collection. Whether it's a $1000 or $100 card. If you can spend $100's to chase it, you shouldn't need to sell it.
This is a big problem in the hobby today, so many people want to chase the big pulls but then immediately want to sell them.... It's not collecting, it's gambling. This leads to hobby burnout, and is why in the 2027, we will see a lot of "collectors" leave this space.
Be financially responsible with your hobby spending, and you can hold that $1300 Treekachu or Mega Gengar without feeling the pressure of needing to sell it.
the entire post is framed around having “no choice” but to “care about the money” because we “have to” and how chases be priced to in order to “justify” keeping them. “it’s solid art” is the only argument not financially based
but sure, i can’t read
“a day to day collector can’t sit on a raw card work over 1k”
yeah so, normally, collecting things means holding onto them in something called a “collection”
What I love about this card is the price point
The average collector hits a chase now and immediately has no choice but to think about selling… hear me out
Not because they care about money, but because they have to. A day to day collector can’t sit on a raw card worth over a grand and consider that responsible.
This chase is already in a sweet spot where anyone could justify keeping it. It’s under 500 (currently under 400), it’s solid art, and it’s just high enough where it feels good to own, but low enough where life’s pressure isn’t forcing a sale on it.
This is where the hobby needs to be. Ascended has created a brain rot in the scene many won’t recognize because they are blinded by dollar signs. And some have no choice but to be.
Small sets and obtainable chases are what we need more of and mega era will provide. As much as I too love money, I love a scene where collectors win much more.
So here’s to Chase cards being sub 500 from here on out and to collectors not having to feel guilt for holding on to their hits 🍻
