As just announced in the @UN First Committee, Russia’s COSMOS 2612 military satellite has been exhibiting threatening behavior by intentionally maneuvering dangerously close to a commercial satellite, behaviors consistent with on-orbit weapons operations. This violates long-established safety thresholds in low Earth orbit. The United States will continue to secure and defend American vital national security interests in, from, and to space.

#NoToExecutionTuesdays Luciana Minassian President SOAR Buenos Aires Chapter Attorney-at-Law (CPACF) Carolina Ouzcouchian Deputy SOAR Buenos Aires Chapter Buenos Aires, Argentina [email protected] @womenncri @HanifJazayeri @HanifFreeIran @IranRightsIRT @sheriran95

PUBLIC STATEMENT SOAR – Society for Orphaned Armenian Relief Buenos Aires Chapter Buenos Aires, 20 October 2026 The Buenos Aires Chapter of the Society for Orphaned Armenian Relief (SOAR) expresses its firm solidarity with the political prisoners in Iran participating in the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign, which today marks its 143rd consecutive week. We note with respect the decision of Mr. Leopoldo Maldonado, United Nations Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of the right to freedom of opinion and expression, to undertake a 24-hour solidarity hunger strike alongside the prisoners. We also acknowledge the previous solidarity action of Ms. Gina Romero, United Nations Special Rapporteur on the rights to freedom of peaceful assembly and of association, and the continued attention drawn to the issue by Ms. Mai Sato, United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran. The scale of the use of the death penalty against political prisoners and protesters in Iran is deeply alarming. Reports indicate that at least 46 political prisoners and protesters have been executed since 19 March 2026, with more than 100 others remaining on death row. Charges such as moharebeh (waging war on God), baghi (armed rebellion), and efsad-e fel-arz (corruption on earth) continue to be applied in cases involving peaceful protest, political expression, and alleged opposition affiliation—criminalising the exercise of fundamental rights protected under international human rights law. As an organisation dedicated to the defence of human dignity and the prevention of atrocities, SOAR Buenos Aires shares the concern expressed by Mr. Maldonado that the current wave of political executions and death sentences bears disturbing similarities to the pattern that preceded the 1988 massacre of political prisoners. These warning signs cannot be ignored by the international community. We call on the authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran to: • immediately halt all executions of political prisoners and protesters; • commute existing death sentences; • review cases that fail to meet fair-trial standards; • investigate allegations of torture and ill-treatment; and • cease the use of capital charges against individuals for the exercise of freedom of expression, assembly, and association. SOAR Buenos Aires stands with the prisoners of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign and with all those who refuse to remain silent in the face of state-sanctioned killings. Silence is not an option. The right to life and the prohibition of arbitrary deprivation of life must be upheld without exception. #NoToExecutionTuesdays Luciana Minassian President SOAR Buenos Aires Chapter Attorney-at-Law (CPACF) Carolina Ouzcouchian Deputy SOAR Buenos Aires Chapter Buenos Aires, Argentina [email protected] @womenncri @HanifJazayeri @HanifFreeIran @sheriran95 @UN_News_Centre @UN @UN_HRC @UN_SPExperts @UNGeneva @UNHumanRights @UN_Women

I am joining a solidarity action with political prisoners in Iran participating in #NoToExecutionTuesdays. At 12 am Iran time, I'm going to start a 24-hour #hungerstrike #Iran #stopexecutions #abolishdeathpenalty The scale of Iran’s use of the death penalty for political reasons is alarming. Amnesty International recorded at least 2,159 executions in 2025, the highest annual figure it has recorded in the country since 1981. In 2026, at least 34 people have been executed in connection with the January protests, including five in just one week between 30 September and 5 October. Information I have received also reveals a particularly troubling dimension for my mandate. At least 46 political prisoners and protesters reportedly executed since 19 March 2026: 37 arrested during protests and nine targeted in connection with alleged opposition affiliation. More than 100 others are reportedly on death row. Offences such as baghi (armed rebellion), moharebeh (enmity against god) and efsad-e fel-arz (corruption on earth) are being used in cases where protest, political expression and alleged opposition affiliation are intertwined with capital charges. History makes these warning signs impossible to ignore. In 1988, around 30,000 political prisoners were executed or forcibly disappeared in one of the darkest chapters of Iran’s recent history. Former UN Special Rapporteur Javaid Rehman subsequently concluded that the summary, arbitrary and extrajudicial executions and enforced disappearances amounted to crimes against humanity. Iran must immediately halt executions, commute death sentences, review cases that fail to meet fair-trial standards and investigate allegations of torture. Political opinion, criticism, peaceful protest and association must never become capital offences.

Serving as the United States Ambassador to Greece has been the honor of a lifetime. I will forever be grateful to President Donald J. Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio for entrusting me with the extraordinary privilege of representing the greatest country in the history of the world. From my first day as Ambassador, I have worked tirelessly to advance President Trump’s America First agenda, strengthen our strategic alliance with Greece, and deliver meaningful victories for the American people. During my tenure, we have helped secure historic agreements to expand American liquefied natural gas exports to Europe, advanced the Vertical Corridor to reduce Europe’s dependence on Russian energy, strengthened our defense and security partnership with a critical NATO ally, and expanded opportunities for American businesses and investment throughout the region. I am especially proud of the role our Embassy has played in strengthening American energy dominance, advancing economic cooperation, and ensuring that the United States remains the indispensable leader in Southeast Europe. These accomplishments are a testament to President Trump’s bold leadership, Secretary Rubio’s commitment to American diplomacy, and the extraordinary men and women who serve our country every day. I also want to address the recent allegations against me. These allegations are false, and I intend to vigorously defend my name, my reputation, and my integrity. I have dedicated my professional life to fighting for justice, standing up for what is right, and defending the values that make America exceptional. I will not allow false accusations to define my decades of public service. My gratitude and respect for President Trump and Secretary Rubio remain unwavering. I am proud of what we accomplished together, and I will always be a loyal supporter of President Trump and his mission to Make America Great Again. While my time as Ambassador may be coming to an end, my commitment to President Trump, the America First movement, and the country I love will never end. It has been the honor of my lifetime to serve the United States of America. My deepest heartfelt appreciation to the people of Greece for their hospitality, partnership, and welcoming me with open arms. God bless President Trump, God bless our incredible diplomats and service members, and God bless the United States of America.
