Yesterday, we commemorated the @UN International Day of the Girl Child. I emphasized the importance of considering our daughters as blessings and ensuring their access to quality education, health insurance, and skills training. During my address, I stressed on the rights of the girl child, including the right to life, protection from forced marriage, and equal inheritance. I want to make it crystal clear that the government of Dr. @alexottiofr regards our girls as precious beings and will take strong action against those who abuse them. I encouraged our girls to speak up in the face of abuse. I was delighted to witness our girls showcasing their intelligence and talent in various events, and we showed our support by providing them with gift items like school bags and sanitary pads. #InternationalDayOfTheGirl

Yesterday, I participated in a groundbreaking Parents & Caregivers graduation ceremony held at Umuda Isingwu, Ohuhu, in Umuahia North. The event was organized by Caritas Nigeria with the aim of enhancing effective parenting in Abia State. This marks a historic milestone for our region, symbolizing a fresh chapter for Abia. In my address, I emphasized the crucial role parents play in shaping our society, underlining their potential to instigate positive transformations. I reiterated my unwavering commitment to safeguarding the girl child from all forms of abuse through my dedicated initiative. Fortunately, this training coincided with Abia's ongoing efforts on this issue. The program focuses on educating children about the risks of premarital sex, a vital initiative supported by our government. I am wholeheartedly dedicated to supporting my husband, in the endeavor to revolutionize our state. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to Caritas Nigeria for extending this noble cause to Umuahia South, Aba North, and Aba South. It was an honor for me to present certificates to the graduates. The community of Umuda Isingwu, Ohuhu, bestowed upon me an award of excellence, which further fuels my determination for the progress of Abia State.
