It’s remarkable how social media posts about the Voice referendum are attracting deluges of vicious, toxic responses. Mark Kenny today describing perfectly how both those responses and our conservative politicians are at odds with the generosity and vision of most Australians.

Compassion is kinder and healthier than empathy. Evidence: when we feel others’ pain, we often get overwhelmed and withdraw. When we feel concern for their pain, we reach out and help. The point of compassion isn't to share their feelings. It's to care about their feelings.

Suicide is heartbreaking. The devastating ripple effects are vast. I'm challenging myself to swim to save lives this March. Please donate to my fundraising page and help young people across Australia. @LapsForLife_Aus

As I said before: unboosted is the new unvaccinated. "Preliminary laboratory studies demonstrate that 3 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine neutralize the Omicron variant (B.1.1.529 lineage) while 2 doses show significantly reduced neutralization titers"

Shared decision making helps providers and patients agree on a health care plan. When patients participate in decision making and understand what they need to do, they are more likely to follow through. #collaborativeapproach #patientcentredcare

Interesting fact. The building opposite the #CFMMEU in #Melbourne is the HQ of the nursing & midwifery union, whose members work all day in FULL PPE to conduct Covid tests, to vaccinate, and care for sick & disabled. Nurses get vaxxed ‘cos they’re big and tough, brave & smart.
