ALT Graphs showing frequencies of B cell subsets from people with alopecia areata classified as atopic or non-atopic, and healthy controls. The frequency of total B cells, transitional B cells, mature B cells, and naïve B cells were increased in people with atopic alopecia areata, while switched B cells were not significantly different compared to non-atopic alopecia areata and healthy controls.

ALT Graphs showing frequencies of CD4 T cell subsets from people with alopecia areata classified as having low levels of hair loss (<50%) or high levels of hair loss (>50%), and healthy controls. The frequency of total CD4 T cells & of CXCR3+ CD4 T cells were not significantly different between the groups. The people with a low amount of hair loss had increased CCR6+ CD4 T cells and CCR6+ CXCR3+ CD4 T cells, along with increased frequencies of CLA+ CD4 T cells and CLA+ CCR6+ CXCR3+ CD4 T cells.
