A Farmer Field School session on finger millet (ragi) cultivation was conducted at Naktikani village, Golamunda Block, Kalahandi, under the FAO-GEF-7 FOLUR Impact Program, Odisha, with active participation from the BFT, Ward Member, Krushak Saathi, and local farmers.
The session focused on Integrated Weed Management (IWM) during the vegetative stage, covering manual, mechanical, and chemical weed control methods alongside appropriate safety precautions. Intercultural operations and chemical weed management were demonstrated directly in the FFS plot. This hands-on session strengthened farmers’ practical knowledge of IWM to promote healthier crop growth and ensure effective weed control.

A new Millet Shakti Cafe was inaugurated at the Agriculture Campus in Phulbani. The ceremony was graced by the Hon’ble MLA, Phulbani, and the Special Development Council (SDC) Chairman, Kandhamal, alongside the District Collector, SP, Kandhamal, and other senior officials.
The newly opened outlet offers a wide variety of value-added millet delicacies, including Foxtail Kheer, Sorghum Papad, Ragi Ladoo, Sorghum Kakra, and Ragi Arisha.

The transplantation of nine purified landrace Ragi (finger millet) varieties under the Multi-Location Trial (MLT) under Shree Anna Abhiyan has been successfully completed at Komna Block in District Nuapada. Landrace seeds represent the gold standard of indigenous climate resilience, carrying rich nutritional value, drought tolerance, and natural pest resistance honed over generations of local farming wisdom. By bringing these native varieties into structured scientific multi-location trials, the mission is reviving lost agro-biodiversity while empowering smallholder farmers with resilient, high-performing crop choices.

ମୃତ ଗୃହପାଳିତ ପଶୁମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ମଧ୍ୟ ସହାୟତା ପ୍ରଦାନ କରାଯିବ। ଦୁଧିଆଳୀ ପଶୁ ଯଥା ମଇଁଷି, ଗାଈ ପିଛା ୩୭,୫୦୦ ଟଙ୍କା, ଛେଳି ବା ମେଣ୍ଢା ପିଛା ୪,୦୦୦ ଟଙ୍କା, ଭାରବାହୀ ପଶୁ ଯଥା ବଳଦ, ମଇଁଷି, ଘୋଡ଼ା ପିଛା ୩୨,୦୦୦ ଟଙ୍କା, ବାଛୁରୀ, ଗଧ ଏବଂ ଖଚର ପିଛା ୨୦,୦୦୦ ଟଙ୍କା ହିସାବରେ ପ୍ରାରମ୍ଭିକ ଆକଳନ ଅନୁଯାୟୀ ଆର୍ଥିକ ସହାୟତା ରାଶି ପ୍ରଦାନ କରାଯିବ।
ରାଜ୍ୟ ସରକାର ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟ କରିଛନ୍ତି ଯେ, ବନ୍ୟା ପ୍ରଭାବିତ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ପରିବାର ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ତୁରନ୍ତ ରିଲିଫ୍ ଓ ସମସ୍ତ ପ୍ରକାର ଆବଶ୍ୟକ ସହାୟତା ପହଞ୍ଚାଇବା ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରଶାସନ ନିରନ୍ତର କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କରୁଛି। ବରିଷ୍ଠ ଅଧିକାରୀମାନେ ପରିସ୍ଥିତିର ଚବିଶ ଘଣ୍ଟିଆ ସମୀକ୍ଷା କରୁଥିବା ବେଳେ ରିଲିଫ୍, ଉଦ୍ଧାର ଓ ପୁନର୍ବାସ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ସ୍ୱାଭାବିକ ପରିସ୍ଥିତି ଫେରିବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଜାରି ରହିବ।
