The New Pact was intended to end years of disagreements among member states on migration policy. Yet, the October EUCO meeting dramatically revealed that this goal has still not been achieved. What, then, remains of the New Pact before it has even been fully implemented?

#Migration continues to be a major topic of debate among EU leaders. Some are tempted to imitate the Italian way and are pushing for the creation of return hubs outside the EU.
The EU must refrain from these temptations. Outsourcing the management of migration is not an option.
Despite its shortcomings, the EU should focus on the best possible implementation of the #NewPact.🇪🇺
On November 12, we are launching the "Implementing the #NewPact" policy series with a panel discussion inc. legal experts, policymakers & CSOs to explore the changes introduced by the New Pact and ways to ensure their proper implementation.
